5. Initial Setup
Your OLEVS 9965 watch is an automatic mechanical timepiece. It requires initial winding and setting before first use.
5.1 Winding the Watch
- To start the watch, manually wind it by rotating the crown (time adjustment knob) clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This builds up the initial power reserve.
- The watch will then self-wind with your natural wrist movements throughout the day. If worn daily for 8-10 hours, it should maintain its power reserve. If not worn for an extended period, it may stop and require manual winding again.
5.2 Setting the Time and Date

Figure 4: Watch Adjustment Buttons
- Time Adjustment: Pull the crown (center knob) out to the furthest position. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time. Push the crown back in to start the watch.
- Calendar Window (Date) Adjustment: Locate the button for calendar adjustment (typically at the 2 o'clock position). Use a small, non-sharp tool (like a toothpick) to press this button to advance the date.
- Week Pointer Adjustment: Locate the button for week adjustment (typically at the 4 o'clock position). Press this button to advance the day of the week.
- Month Pointer Adjustment: Locate the button for month adjustment (typically at the 8 o'clock position). Press this button to advance the month.
Avoid adjusting the date, day, or month between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this is when the watch's internal mechanisms are engaged in changing the date, and manual adjustment can cause damage.
6. Operation
6.1 Automatic Movement
Your OLEVS 9965 watch is powered by an automatic self-winding mechanical movement. This means that the natural motion of your wrist while wearing the watch will keep it wound. For optimal performance, wear the watch regularly. If the watch stops due to lack of movement, simply wind it manually as described in Section 5.1.

6.2 Luminous Function
The watch features a luminous coating on its hands and hour markers. After exposure to light, these elements will glow in the dark, allowing you to read the time in low-light conditions. The intensity and duration of the glow depend on the exposure time and intensity of the light source.

7. Care and Maintenance
7.1 Water Resistance
Your OLEVS 9965 watch is rated for 30 meters (3ATM) water resistance. This means it is suitable for daily use, such as hand washing, rain, or accidental splashes. It is NOT suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, diving, or any activities involving hot water or steam. Exposure to hot water can compromise the watch's seals.

7.2 Cleaning
To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and strap with a soft, dry cloth regularly. For stainless steel bands, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
7.3 Storage
When not wearing your watch for extended periods, store it in its original box or a watch winder to protect it from dust, moisture, and scratches. If stored without a winder, you may need to manually wind and set the time when you wear it again.
8. Troubleshooting
- Watch stops running: As an automatic watch, it relies on wrist movement. If it stops, manually wind it 30-40 times using the crown. Ensure you wear it regularly for sufficient movement.
- Date/Day/Month not changing correctly: Ensure you are not adjusting the calendar functions between 9 PM and 3 AM. If the issue persists, re-set the time and date carefully.
- Condensation under the crystal: This may indicate a breach in the water resistance. Avoid further water exposure and seek professional service.
9. User Tips
- For consistent timekeeping, try to wear your automatic watch for at least 8 hours a day.
- If you own multiple automatic watches, consider investing in a watch winder to keep them wound and ready to wear.
- When setting the time, always rotate the hands clockwise to avoid putting unnecessary strain on the movement.
