- Environmental Protection: Although IP65 rated, avoid prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions or direct water jets to maximize product lifespan.
- Regular Checks: Periodically check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
- Software Updates: Check the Tuya APP regularly for any available firmware updates for the access control keypad to ensure optimal performance and security.
7. Troubleshooting
- Q: Cannot connect automatically via Tuya APP. What device category should I select for manual connection?
- A: Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled. When adding a device in the Tuya APP, try selecting a category like "Security & Video Surveillance" or "Door Lock" if available, then look for a generic "Access Control" or "Smart Lock" option. If auto-scan fails, ensure the device is powered on and in pairing mode (refer to the device's system settings for Bluetooth pairing options).
- Q: The display is flashing after connection.
- A: A flashing display can indicate a power issue or incorrect wiring. Double-check your power supply (DC 12V) and all wiring connections according to the provided diagram (Figure 5). Ensure stable power delivery.
- Q: Tuya APP does not recognize the keypad.
- A: Make sure Bluetooth is active on your smartphone and the keypad. Ensure the keypad is not already connected to another device. Try restarting both the keypad (by power cycling) and the Tuya APP. Follow the Tuya APP setup instructions carefully (Section 4.3).
- Q: The keypad is not generating a 12V pulse to open the electromechanical door.
- A: Verify the wiring to your electromechanical lock, especially the LK_NO/LK_COM/LK_NC connections, as per the wiring diagram (Figure 5). Ensure your power supply is providing the correct DC 12V output and sufficient current (5A recommended). Also, check the lock's compatibility and ensure it's properly configured in the keypad's system settings.
8. User Tips
- Fingerprint Enrollment: When enrolling fingerprints, try to register your finger from multiple angles and positions to improve recognition accuracy and speed. The 360-degree recognition feature works best with varied enrollment data.
- Temporary Access: Utilize the Tuya APP's time-limited or one-time code features for visitors or service personnel. Remember that one-time codes are valid for only 1 hour and for a single use.
- Passage Mode: For high-traffic areas or specific times when the door needs to remain unlocked, activate the "Normally Open" or "Passage Mode" through the system settings.
- Security Best Practices: Regularly change passwords and review user access permissions through the Tuya APP or keypad menu to maintain optimal security.
