4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off and Mode Selection

  1. To power on, turn the switch to the right.
  2. Select the detection mode using the mode switch:
    • 'S' for wireless signal detection (RF, GSM, WiFi, etc.)
    • 'D' for magnetic detection (GPS trackers)

4.2 Sensitivity Adjustment

The device features a high sensitivity with an adjustable knob. Rotate the sensitivity adjuster (left-right rotation) to set the desired detection level. The LED lighting indication will show the current sensitivity level (up to Level 10).

4.3 Wireless Signal Detection (RF, GSM, WiFi)

This mode detects a wide range of wireless signals from 1MHz to 8000MHz (8GHz), including mobile (2G, 3G, 4G), WiFi, Bluetooth, FM, VHF, UHF, and various wireless audio/video transmission frequencies (900/1200/2400MHz).

  1. Switch the mode to 'S' for wireless detection.
  2. Adjust the sensitivity knob. Start with a lower sensitivity and gradually increase it if no signals are detected.
  3. Scan the target area slowly. When a wireless signal is detected, the LED lights will flash from weak to strong, and the unit will beep or vibrate (depending on your alarm setting). The closer you are to the source, the more LEDs will light up and the faster the alarm will sound.

4.4 Pinhole Camera Detection (Infrared Scanning)

The G528B utilizes infrared scanning technology to detect hidden pinhole camera lenses that do not emit signals.

  1. Short press the button to turn on the red LED lights for scanning.
  2. Hold the device with the LED light side towards the target area.
  3. Look through the watching window on the device. Any pinhole camera lenses will appear as bright, reflective points.
  4. The device offers four different levels of infrared lights for varying detection conditions.

4.5 Magnetic GPS Tracker Detection

The built-in magnet detect probe helps locate magnetic GPS trackers often hidden under vehicles or in other metallic objects.

  1. Switch the mode to 'D' for magnetic detection.
  2. Move the device slowly over surfaces where a magnetic tracker might be hidden.
  3. When the magnet probe touches a magnetic object, the probe light will turn on, and an alarm will sound.

4.6 Alarm Indicators

The G528B provides multiple ways to alert you to detected signals:

  • LED Lighting Indication: A 10-level LED bar indicates signal strength, from weak (green) to strong (red).
  • Variable Tone Indication: The device emits an audible alarm that changes in pitch and frequency based on signal strength.
  • Vibration Alarm: For discreet detection, the device can be set to vibrate when a signal is found.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the device's surface or internal components.

5.2 Storage

Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When not in use for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Device Not Turning On

  • Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to a power source using the USB cable and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again.
  • Check the power switch to ensure it is fully engaged.

6.2 No Signal Detected / Weak Signal

  • Adjust the sensitivity knob. Start with a higher sensitivity setting and gradually decrease it if false alarms occur.
  • Ensure the antennas are correctly installed and fully extended.
  • Move closer to the suspected area or device.
  • Consider potential interference from other electronic devices in the vicinity.

6.3 Frequent False Alarms

  • Decrease the sensitivity using the adjustment knob.
  • Move away from strong signal sources like WiFi routers, cell phones, or microwave ovens, which can cause interference.
  • Ensure you are in an environment where you expect to find hidden devices, not just general electronic noise.

8. User Tips

  • Thorough Scanning: When searching for hidden devices, move the detector slowly and methodically across all surfaces and areas. Rapid movements may cause you to miss subtle signals.
  • Environmental Awareness: Be aware of your surroundings. Common household electronics (WiFi routers, cordless phones, microwaves) can emit RF signals. Adjust sensitivity to filter out known benign signals.
  • Pinhole Camera Check: For pinhole camera detection, ensure the room is dimly lit for best visibility of reflective lenses through the viewing window.
  • Magnetic Scan for Vehicles: When checking vehicles for GPS trackers, pay close attention to the underside, wheel wells, bumpers, and inside the cabin, as these are common hiding spots for magnetic devices.
  • Battery Management: Regularly charge your device to ensure it's ready for use. The 8-12 hour working time provides ample duration for comprehensive scans.
