4. Setup & Installation
Careful installation is crucial for the proper functioning of your access control system. Ensure all components are securely mounted and wired correctly.
4.1. General Wiring Diagram
Refer to the following diagram for the general connection of the access controller, power supply, exit button, and electric lock. Specific wiring for different lock types may vary slightly.
4.2. Power Supply Installation
The power supply unit converts AC power to DC12V for the system. Ensure it is installed in a dry, protected area.
- Connect AC110-240V input to the 'N' and 'L' terminals.
- Connect the DC12V output to the access controller and electric lock as per the wiring diagram.
- The 'TIME' knob adjusts the lock's delay time (0-15 seconds).
4.3. Access Controller Keypad Installation
Mount the keypad at a convenient height near the door. The IP68 rating allows for outdoor installation.
4.4. Electric Lock Installation (Kit Specific)
The type of lock and required brackets depend on your door type and opening direction.
Kit2: Electric Strike Lock
Suitable for wooden and metal doors. No additional bracket needed. Ensure the strike plate aligns with your door's existing lock mechanism.
Kit3: Electric Drop Bolt Lock
Suitable for wooden, metal, and stainless steel doors. No additional bracket needed. Install the lock body and strike plate to ensure proper bolt engagement.
Kit4: 180KG Electric Magnetic Lock
Suitable for wooden, metal, and glass frame doors. No additional bracket needed. Mount the electromagnet to the door frame and the armature plate to the door.
Kit5: 180KG Magnetic Lock with U Bracket
Specifically for frameless glass doors. The U bracket secures the magnetic lock to the glass door.
Kit6: 180KG Magnetic Lock with L Bracket
For wooden or metal doors where the door is flat or the gap between the door and frame is less than 3cm. The L bracket provides proper mounting for the electromagnet.
Kit7: 180KG Magnetic Lock with ZL Bracket
Required if your door opens inwards. The ZL bracket allows for correct positioning of the electromagnet and armature plate.
Kit8: Embedded 180KG Electric Magnetic Lock
Suitable for wooden, metal, and glass frame doors. This lock is designed to be recessed into the door frame for a flush finish.
5. Operating Instructions
Your access control system offers multiple convenient ways to unlock your door.
5.1. Unlocking Methods
- Fingerprint: Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor.
- RFID Card: Present your registered RFID card to the card reading area.
- Password: Enter your registered password on the keypad and press '#'.
- Tuya APP: Use the Tuya Smart app on your smartphone (see section 5.2).
- Remote Control: Press the unlock button on a paired remote control (if purchased separately).
5.2. Tuya APP Setup and Usage
The Tuya Smart app provides advanced control and monitoring features for your access system.
5.2.1. App Installation & Pairing
- Scan the QR code provided in the product packaging or search for "Tuya Smart" on your mobile app store (Android/iOS) to download and install the app.
- On the access control keypad, enter
*123456#68#. Wait for approximately 10 seconds until the indicator light flashes, indicating pairing mode. - Open the Tuya Smart app on your phone and select "Add Device".
- Choose "Auto scan" and click "Searching".
- Connect with the available device, then click "Next".
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password, then click "Next".
- Once connected and successfully added, click "Done".
- Navigate to settings within the app and ensure "remote unlock setting" is turned ON.
5.2.2. App Features
- Remote Unlocking: Unlock the door directly from the Tuya App. Bluetooth can be used if Wi-Fi is unavailable.
- User Management: Add fingerprints, passwords, RFID cards, and remote controls for users directly through the app.
- Temporary Passwords: Set periodic passwords valid for a specific duration or one-time passwords that expire after one use within 6 hours.
- Password Sharing: Share temporary passwords via WeChat, Email, or SMS.
- Unlock Records: View a log of the latest 10,000 lock opening events.
- Normally Open Mode: Set the door to remain unlocked for frequent entry/exit during specific times.
5.3. Management Card Programming
The system allows for setting management cards directly on the keypad without needing a computer. Refer to the keypad's specific programming instructions for adding/deleting users and management cards.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the keypad and other components with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Waterproofing: While the keypad is IP68 waterproof, ensure all wiring connections are properly sealed and protected from moisture, especially for outdoor installations.

7. Troubleshooting
- System Not Powering On: Check all power connections from the AC source to the power supply and from the power supply to the access controller. Ensure the input voltage matches the power supply's requirements.
- Lock Not Engaging/Disengaging: Verify wiring to the electric lock. Check the power supply's output voltage. Ensure the lock mechanism is free from obstructions. For strike locks, check NC/NO mode setting.
- Keypad Unresponsive: Ensure the keypad is receiving power. If the backlight is off, check power. If unresponsive to touch, ensure it's clean and dry.
- Fingerprint/Card Not Recognized: Ensure the fingerprint or card is properly registered. Clean the fingerprint sensor. Try re-registering if issues persist.
- Tuya App Connectivity Issues: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and the signal strength is adequate at the keypad's location. Re-attempt the pairing process if necessary. Check app permissions on your smartphone.
