5.2. Power Connection

The device operates on a 12-30V input, providing a 5V 2A output. Use the provided waterproof power cable and buck line for connection.

Identifying the ACC Power Line:

  1. Set a multimeter to DC mode. Connect the black test lead to the negative battery pole and the red test lead to the test line.
  2. When the ACC (Accessory) is OFF, the multimeter should show no output (0V). When the ACC is ON, the multimeter should show 12V. This indicates you have found the correct ACC power line.
  3. If the ACC line is not immediately found, repeatedly test different lines with the red test lead (keeping the black test lead on the negative pole) until the 12V reading is observed when ACC is ON.

5.3. Camera Installation

The system supports dual 1080P cameras (front and rear). The cameras feature a metal case for efficient heat dissipation.

TPMS Installation Steps:

  1. Unscrew the valve cap.
  2. Install the anti-theft washer.
  3. Rotate the nut counter-clockwise.
  4. Use the wrench to tighten the washer by anti-clockwise rotation.
  5. Check for air leakage with soapy water.

Note: Tire pressure sensors are typically pre-paired at the factory. Values should display directly after installation. If not, re-pair the sensors. To replace a sensor, unpair the old one first, then pair the new sensor.

5.5. APP Installation and WiFi Connection

The KYCAM2 app is available for both iOS and Android devices. You can download it from Google Play or the App Store, or by scanning the QR code.

  5. Subsequent connections should be automatic as long as the host's Bluetooth and WiFi are enabled.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the monitor and cameras. Avoid abrasive materials or chemical cleaners.
  • Memory Card: Regularly format the Micro TF card (e.g., monthly) to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data fragmentation.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website or the KYCAM2 app for any available firmware updates to ensure your device has the latest features and bug fixes.
  • Waterproof Seals: Periodically inspect all rubber plugs and seals to ensure they are intact and properly seated to maintain the device's IPX7 waterproof rating.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
Cannot disconnect CarPlay or Android Auto.Turn off WiFi or forget the Bluetooth device on your phone.
Cannot reconnect CarPlay/Android Auto after manual disconnection.Reconnect to the dash cam via Bluetooth on your phone.
Cannot reconnect CarPlay/Android Auto after restarting the dash cam.It should reconnect automatically if both Bluetooth and WiFi are enabled on your phone and the dash cam.
KYCAM2 App not working when CarPlay is active. Both CarPlay/Android Auto and the KYCAM2 app can be operated simultaneously. Ensure the app has necessary permissions.
TPMS values not displaying or inaccurate.Re-pair the sensors. Check if sensors are installed correctly and if the air pressure unit of the inflation tool matches the host's setting.
WiFi connection issues (e.g., "no internet access" prompt).Select "connect only this time" or "always connect" when prompted. The device's WiFi is for local connection, not internet. Consider temporarily turning off cellular data on your phone if issues persist.
