2. Receiver Connection to Flash
- Identify the wireless control port on your compatible flash unit (e.g., Godox QT, Gemini GT/GS, DP/DE series).
- Plug the FTR-16 Receiver's USB-like connector firmly into this port. The receiver draws power directly from the flash unit, so no separate batteries are required for the receiver.

3. Transmitter Mounting to Camera
- Slide the FT-16 Transmitter onto your camera's hot shoe. Ensure it is securely seated.
- The FT-16 is compatible with single-point hot shoe cameras from brands like Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony, Minolta, Olympus, and Panasonic.
4. Channel Synchronization
- On both the FT-16 Transmitter and each FTR-16 Receiver, locate the channel switches (labeled 1, 2, 3, 4).
- Set these switches to the exact same position on all units you intend to use together. This ensures proper communication and prevents interference from other wireless systems.

Operating Instructions
1. Powering On
- The Transmitter powers on automatically once batteries are inserted and it's mounted on the camera.
- The Receiver powers on automatically when correctly connected to a powered-on flash unit.
2. Adjusting Flash Power
- Use the 'POWER' dial on the FT-16 Transmitter to adjust the output level of the connected flashes.
- The LCD display on the transmitter will show the current power setting, which can be displayed as 5.0-10.0 or 1/1-1/128, depending on the selected display mode.
3. Flash Grouping
- Each FTR-16 Receiver has a dial (labeled A-F) to assign it to a specific group.
- To control flashes in different groups independently, set each receiver to a unique group (A, B, C, etc.).
- On the FT-16 Transmitter, select the desired group to adjust its power or trigger it.
4. Controlling Flash Functions
- SET Button: Used to confirm selections or enter settings menus (if applicable).
- BUZZ Button: Toggles the flash unit's audible beep (buzzer) on or off.
- LAMP Button: Controls the modeling lamp or AF-assist beam on/off for compatible flashes.
5. Test Fire
- Press the 'TEST' button on the FT-16 Transmitter to manually trigger all synchronized flashes. This is useful for checking your lighting setup before taking a shot.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the transmitter and receivers. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries from the transmitter to prevent leakage. Store the units in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Handling: Handle the units with care. Avoid dropping them or subjecting them to strong impacts, which can damage internal components.
- Moisture: Keep the units away from water and high humidity. They are not waterproof.
Troubleshooting
Flashes Not Triggering:
- Check Batteries: Ensure fresh batteries are correctly installed in the FT-16 Transmitter.
- Receiver Connection: Verify that the FTR-16 Receiver is securely plugged into the flash unit's wireless control port and that the flash is powered on.
- Channel Match: Double-check that the channel switches on both the transmitter and all receivers are set to the exact same position.
- Transmitter Mounting: Ensure the transmitter is properly seated on the camera's hot shoe.
- Operating Distance: Confirm you are within the effective operating range of 50 meters (164 feet). Obstacles can reduce this range.
- Flash Functionality: Ensure the flash unit itself is functioning correctly when triggered manually.
Inconsistent Triggering:
- Reduce Distance: Try reducing the distance between the transmitter and receivers.
- Interference: Check for potential sources of wireless interference (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, other wireless devices) in the environment.
- Battery Level: Low battery in the transmitter can lead to inconsistent performance. Replace with fresh batteries.
Power Adjustment Not Working:
- Group Assignment: Confirm that the receiver is correctly assigned to a group (A-F) and that the corresponding group is selected on the transmitter for adjustment.
- Flash Compatibility: Ensure your specific flash unit supports remote power adjustment via its wireless control port.

User Tips
- Pre-Shoot Testing: Always perform a test fire of your flash setup before a critical shoot to ensure all units are communicating correctly and power levels are as desired.
- Understanding Power Display: Familiarize yourself with both power display modes (5.0-10.0 and 1/1-1/128) to quickly adjust settings based on your preference or flash unit's native display.
- Battery Life: Keep spare AA batteries for the transmitter on hand, especially during long shooting sessions, as low battery can affect performance.
- Environmental Factors: Be aware that dense environments or areas with high radio frequency interference can reduce the effective range of the trigger.
