4. Installation Instructions
4.1 Choosing Install Position
When installing the water meter, ensure the upstream straight pipe line is ≥5D and the downstream straight pipe line is ≥3D, where D is the pipe diameter. It is crucial that water completely fills the pipe at the installation point.

Figure 4: Correct vs. Wrong Installation Points
- Lowest point of the pipe line: Water must be full of the pipe.
- Flow is vertically or obliquely upward: Preferred for optimal measurement.
- Upstream straight pipe line: Must be ≥5D.
- Downstream straight pipe line: Must be ≥3D.
- Note: The arrow on the meter indicates the flow direction.
4.2 Installation Method
- Confirm Installation Size:
Cut 62.8mm of the pipeline. The water meter thickness is 50.8mm, and two seal gaskets are 6mm thick. Reserve space accordingly.

Figure 5: Pipeline Cutting for Installation
- Install Companion Flange:
Prepare and install the companion flanges on both ends of the cut pipe section.
- Fixed Flange:
Install the water meter with 3 screws to fix the flange evenly, then spot weld.
- Weld Flange:
Remove the water meter and weld the flanges securely to the pipe.
- After Cooling, Install with Seal Gasket and Tighten Screws:
Once the welded flanges have cooled, re-insert the water meter with the seal gaskets and tighten all screws. Ensure the direction signing on the water meter matches the direction of real flow.
- Installation Angle:
The top of the pipe line may not be full of water. It is suggested to install the water meter on a vertical direction of the pipe line within a ±45 degree angle from the vertical. Refer to the attached picture for guidance.

8. User Tips
- Accuracy for Home Use: While designed for agricultural and garden use, its high accuracy (Measurement Range Ratio R=63) makes it suitable for additional water metering in a home setting, provided installation guidelines are followed.
- Units: The meter can display flow in various units, which can be configured via the menu.
- Installation Method: The water meter is a "sandwich-type" and requires cutting the pipe for installation. It is not a clamp-on or external device that simply attaches to the pipe without modification.
9. Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: What is the accuracy of the flow meter? Can it be used as an additional water meter in a house? In what units?
- A: The flow meter has a Measurement Range Ratio R of 63, indicating high accuracy. Yes, it can be used as an additional water meter in a house, provided the installation requirements (e.g., straight pipe lengths) are met. The meter supports multiple flow units, which can be configured through the menu.
- Q: How is the water meter applied? Does it just lean on the tube, or do I need to cut the water tube?
- A: This is a sandwich-type water meter, which means it is installed directly into the pipeline. You will need to cut the water tube to insert the meter and then secure it with flanges. It does not simply lean on the tube.
