Step-by-Step Installation:
- Mount the Dash Cam: Secure the Carview 4 mirror unit over your existing rearview mirror using the provided mounting straps. Ensure it is firmly attached and does not obstruct your view.
- Connect the Front Camera: The front camera is integrated into the mirror unit. Adjust its angle to capture the desired view of the road ahead.
- Install the Rear Camera: Mount the rear camera on the rear windshield or near the license plate. Use the 3M sticker and screws for secure attachment.
- Connect Rear Camera Cable: Route the 7.5M rear connection cable from the rear camera to the main mirror unit. Connect the red wire of the rear camera cable to your car's reverse light power supply to enable the reversing aid system. Use the pry tool to tuck the cable neatly along the car's interior trim.
- Connect GPS Module: Plug the GPS module into the designated GPS port on the mirror unit. Mount the GPS module on the dashboard or windshield where it has a clear view of the sky.
- Power Connection: Connect the provided car charger to the mirror unit's power input and plug it into your car's cigarette lighter socket. Ensure you use the original 5V/3A car charger for optimal performance.
- Insert TF Card: Insert a Class 10 or higher Micro SD/TF card (up to 128GB) into the TF card slot. Format the card before first use.

Operation
Basic Functions:
- Power On/Off: The device will automatically power on and start recording when the car engine starts. It will power off when the engine is turned off. You can also manually power it on/off using the power button.
- Touch Screen Controls: Navigate menus, adjust settings, and view recordings by tapping and swiping on the 10-inch touch screen.
- Voice Commands: Use specific English voice commands for hands-free control. Supported commands include:
- "Lock the video"
- "Take photo"
- "Turn on screen"

Intelligent Voice Command - Loop Recording: The dash cam continuously records video in segments. When the memory card is full, it automatically overwrites the oldest unlocked files to ensure uninterrupted recording.
- G-Sensor (Emergency Recording): The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. In such events, the current video segment is automatically locked and saved to prevent it from being overwritten by loop recording.
- Parking Monitor: When enabled (requires hard-wiring kit), the dash cam will automatically turn on and record a video if it detects a collision or impact while your vehicle is parked. This provides 24/7 protection for your car.
- Reversing Aid System: When the car is put into reverse gear, the screen will automatically display the rear camera view with parking guidelines, assisting you in safe parking maneuvers.
- GPS Tracking: The external GPS module records your driving route, location coordinates, and speed. This data can be reviewed later using dedicated PC software, providing valuable context for your video recordings.
Maintenance
- Clean Lenses: Regularly clean the front and rear camera lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear video quality.
- Format TF Card: To maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption, it is recommended to format the TF card once a month. Back up any important videos before formatting.
- Firmware Updates: Check the official ThiEYE website periodically for any available firmware updates to ensure your dash cam has the latest features and bug fixes.
- Temperature Control: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods, as this can affect battery life and device performance.
Troubleshooting
- Dash Cam not powering on/off automatically: Ensure the car charger is securely connected and the car's cigarette lighter socket is functioning. The dash cam is designed to power on/off with the car's ignition.
- Touch screen not responding or sensitive: Always use the original ThiEYE car charger (5V/3A). Using other chargers with insufficient voltage/current can affect touch screen sensitivity.
- Parking Monitor not working: The 24-hour parking monitor feature requires a hard-wiring kit (sold separately) to connect the dash cam directly to the car battery. The internal battery is only for emergency file backup.
- Video quality is poor or blurry: Clean the camera lenses. Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lenses. Check that the recording resolution is set to 4K for the front camera and 1080P for the rear.
- GPS data not recording: Ensure the GPS module is properly connected and mounted in a location with a clear view of the sky.
- Voice commands not working: Verify that the voice command feature is enabled in the settings. Note that voice commands currently only support English.
- "TF card full" error: Format the TF card regularly. Ensure loop recording is enabled in the settings. Consider using a larger capacity TF card if you need to store more footage.
