6.1 Doorbell Functionality

When a visitor presses the single call button on the door station, it will initiate a call to the linked indoor station(s) and/or the Hik-Connect mobile app on your smartphone/tablet.

  • Answering Calls: Answer the call from your indoor station or the Hik-Connect app.
  • Two-Way Audio: Engage in two-way audio communication with the visitor.
  • Video Feed: View the live video feed from the 2MP HD camera.

6.2 Access Control

The DS-KV8113-WME1 features a built-in Mifare card reader for convenient door unlocking.

  1. Adding Cards: Use the device's web interface or iVMS-4200 client to add and manage Mifare cards. Present the card to the card reading area (component 6 in Figure 2) to register it.
  2. Unlocking Door: Once a card is registered, simply present it to the card reading area to unlock the connected door.
  3. Remote Unlock: The door can also be unlocked remotely via the Hik-Connect app or iVMS-4200 client during a call or live view.
  4. Exit Button: If an external exit button is connected, pressing it will unlock the door from the inside.
