5.3 Dual Positioning Ways

The MV710G utilizes both Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS, including GPS, GLONASS, and BDS) and Location Based Service (LBS) for accurate positioning. It automatically switches to LBS mode when satellite signals are weak (e.g., indoors or in urban canyons).

5.4 GPS Data Compensation and Offline Storage

  • GPS Data Compensation by Cornering: The device uploads GPS data more frequently and densely when the vehicle is turning, ensuring a more accurate and detailed trajectory record.
  • GPS Data Supplementary of Network Blind Area: If the network signal is lost, the device can store up to 5000 pieces of GPS data internally. Once the network signal recovers, the stored data will be automatically uploaded to the tracking server, preventing data loss.

6.4 Multiple Anti-theft Alarms

The MV710G provides comprehensive protection with various anti-theft alarms:

  • Vibration Alarm: Alerts you if the vehicle experiences unusual vibrations.
  • Displacement Alarm: Notifies you if the vehicle moves beyond a set distance from its parked location.
  • Power Failure Alarm: Alerts if the device's main power supply is disconnected.
  • Geo-fence Alarm: Triggers an alert if the vehicle enters or exits a predefined geographical area.
  • Tow Alarm: Detects if the vehicle is being towed.
  • Engine Start/Flameout Alarm: Alerts you when the engine is started or turned off.

  • Backup Battery: The built-in 280mAh backup battery provides approximately 6-8 hours of operation after the external power is disconnected. This is for emergency tracking and not for continuous use.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device not connecting to network:
    - Ensure the Micro SIM card is correctly inserted and the ON/OFF switch is in the 'ON' position.
    - Verify that the SIM card has an active data plan and sufficient balance.
    - Check if the cellular network bands (4G LTE CAT1 and 2G GSM) are supported in your region.
  • Inaccurate positioning or no GPS signal:
    - Ensure the device has a clear view of the sky for optimal GNSS signal reception.
    - If indoors or in areas with poor satellite coverage, the device will automatically switch to LBS positioning, which may be less accurate.
    - Check the positioning antenna for any obstructions.
  • Alarms not triggering:
    - Verify that the alarm settings are correctly configured in the MiCODUS app/platform.
    - Ensure the device is properly wired, especially the ACC line for auto-arm functionality.
  • Remote fuel cut-off not working:
    - Confirm that the relay is correctly installed and wired to the MOT line and the vehicle's fuel/power circuit.
    - Ensure the device has a stable network connection to receive commands.
  • SIM card compatibility:
    - If using a third-party SIM card, ensure it is a data-enabled Micro SIM. Some specialized SIM cards (e.g., Spionlink) may have regional restrictions or not support SMS, which can affect features like voice monitoring. Always check local network compatibility.
  • App/Platform issues:
    - Ensure your app is updated to the latest version.
    - Check your internet connection on your phone/computer.
    - If issues persist, try restarting the app or logging out and back in.

9. User Tips

  • Choose the Right SIM: While the device supports a wide range of networks, always ensure your chosen SIM card is active, has a data plan, and is compatible with local network providers. If you need SMS functionality (e.g., for voice monitoring), confirm your SIM supports it.
  • Consider App Access: Some versions of the MiCODUS app or platform may offer different access durations (e.g., one-year vs. lifetime). Choose the option that best suits your long-term tracking needs.
  • Secure Installation: For optimal anti-theft protection, consider discreetly installing the tracker in a hidden location within your vehicle.
  • Regular Monitoring: Regularly check the device's status and your vehicle's location through the app to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
