Safety Warnings

  • WARNING: Not suitable for children under 36 months. Adult supervision is required for younger users.
  • Always operate the drone in open, unobstructed areas, maintaining a safe distance from people, animals, buildings, and power lines.
  • Avoid flying in strong winds. It is recommended to fly in wind conditions below level 3-4, especially when utilizing GPS functions.

Setup Guide

1. Unfolding the Drone

Carefully unfold the drone arms one by one until they lock securely into position. The drone's unfolded dimensions are approximately 310mm x 310mm x 120mm. For storage or transport, fold the arms back into their compact configuration, measuring approximately 100mm x 165mm x 120mm.

2. Battery Installation and Charging

  • Drone Battery: Insert the 7.4V 3000mAh LiPo 2S modular battery into the drone's battery compartment. Ensure it is fully seated and clicks securely into place. Charge the drone battery using the provided 4DRC USB charger. The charging time is approximately 2.5 hours.
  • Remote Controller Battery: The remote controller is powered by a 3.7V 1000mAh rechargeable battery. Charge it using the Micro USB port on the controller. The charging time is approximately 1.5 hours.
  • Always ensure both batteries are fully charged before each flight for optimal performance and to prevent unexpected power loss during operation.

3. Propeller Installation (if required)

If propellers are not pre-installed or need replacement, use the provided screwdriver to attach them. Ensure each propeller is securely fastened to its corresponding motor. Pay attention to the markings (e.g., 'A' and 'B') on the propellers and drone arms to ensure correct orientation, as incorrect installation can affect flight stability.

4. Gimbal Protection Lock Removal

Before your first flight, carefully remove the gimbal protection lock from the 3-axis gimbal. This lock is designed to protect the camera and gimbal during transport but must be removed for proper camera function and stabilization during flight.

5. SD Card Installation

For storing high-resolution photos and videos, insert a UHS-I Speed Grade 3 Micro SD Card (up to 128GB, not included) into the drone's designated slot. Ensure the card is inserted correctly until it clicks into place.

Operating Instructions

1. Connecting to the Remote Controller and App

  1. Power on the drone by pressing its power button.
  2. Power on the remote controller.
  3. Download and install the official 4DRC F13 app on your mobile device (compatible with iOS 10.0 or later / Android 6.0 or later).
  4. Connect your mobile device to the drone's Wi-Fi network (usually named '4DRC-F13-XXXX').
  5. Open the 4DRC F13 app to establish a connection and view the live camera feed.

2. Basic Flight Controls (Mode 2)

The F13 drone operates in Mode 2. Familiarize yourself with the joystick functions:

  • Left Joystick: Controls throttle (up/down for altitude) and yaw (rotate left/right for heading).
  • Right Joystick: Controls pitch (forward/backward for movement) and roll (sideways left/right for strafing).

3. GPS Positioning and Return Functions

The F13 utilizes GPS+GLONASS dual mode for stable flight and advanced return features:

  • GPS Lock: Before takeoff, ensure the drone has acquired sufficient GPS satellites for stable hovering and accurate positioning.
  • One-Key Return: Press the dedicated return button on the remote controller or within the app to initiate an automatic return to the recorded takeoff point.
  • Low Power Return: The drone will automatically return to the takeoff point when its battery level becomes critically low.
  • Signal Loss Return: If the connection between the drone and remote controller is lost, the drone will automatically return to the takeoff point.
  • Over-distance Return: The drone is programmed to return if it flies beyond its maximum control distance.

4. Obstacle Avoidance System

The F13 drone is equipped with a 360° all-round laser obstacle avoidance system. This intelligent three-dimensional perception detection helps the drone identify and avoid obstacles in its flight path, providing comprehensive protection during operation.

5. Camera and Gimbal Operation

The F13 features a professional 4K HD camera mounted on a 3-axis mechanical self-stabilizing gimbal with EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) for clear and stable aerial photography and videography. The camera angle is electrically adjustable from 0° to 90°.

  • Photo/Video Capture: Use the dedicated buttons on the remote controller or the app interface to take photos or start/stop video recording.
  • Gimbal Control: Adjust the camera's tilt angle (0° to -90°) via the remote controller or app for optimal framing.
  • Resolution: Photos can be captured at 7680*4320 (APP) or 3840*2160 (TF card). Videos at 7680*4320@25fps (APP) or 3840*2160@30fps (TF card).

6. Advanced Flight Modes and App Features

  • GPS Smart Follow: The drone will automatically follow your mobile phone's GPS location, keeping you in the frame.
  • Image Follow: The drone identifies and automatically follows a designated subject, such as a person or vehicle.

  • Center Point Flying: The drone will orbit around a designated point of interest, capturing cinematic circular footage.

  • Headless Mode: Eliminates the need to distinguish the drone's head direction, making it easier for beginners to control.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the drone body, camera lens, and obstacle avoidance sensors with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage surfaces.
  • Propeller Inspection: Before each flight, carefully inspect all propellers for any signs of damage, such as cracks, bends, or chips. Replace damaged propellers immediately using the provided spare parts and screwdriver to ensure safe and stable flight.
  • Battery Care:
    • Do not overcharge or over-discharge the batteries. Always use the designated charger.
    • Store batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and flammable materials.
    • If the drone will not be used for an extended period, charge the batteries to approximately 50-60% capacity for optimal long-term storage.
  • Gimbal Care: Ensure the gimbal moves freely and smoothly. If it becomes stiff or appears damaged, contact customer support. Always re-attach the gimbal protection lock when storing or transporting the drone to prevent damage to the camera and stabilization mechanism.
