6. Troubleshooting

Device stopped working / SIM expired

If your device stops working or you receive an 'expired' message, especially after using a 3G SIM, consider the following:

  • SIM Card Validity: Ensure your SIM card is active and has a valid data plan. Many plans have expiry dates or data limits.
  • Network Compatibility: Verify that your SIM card and the local network still support 3G. With the rollout of 4G and 5G, some regions are phasing out 3G networks. The ML300G supports 4G LTE CAT1 and 2G GSM/GPRS. If your SIM is 3G-only and 3G is no longer available, it will not work. Consider upgrading to a 4G compatible SIM card.
  • Data Balance: Check if your SIM card has sufficient data balance. Even if active, lack of data will prevent tracking.

General Issues

  • No Signal: Ensure the device is in an area with good network coverage. If indoors, try moving it closer to a window or outdoors.
  • Inaccurate Positioning: In areas with weak GNSS signals (e.g., dense urban areas, indoors), LBS positioning may be used, which is less accurate. Move the device to an open-sky area for better GNSS accuracy.
  • Device Not Responding: Try turning the device off and then on again. If the issue persists, ensure the battery is charged.
