4. Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the power supply and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Placement: Place the power supply on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. Ensure the rear cooling fans are not obstructed.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Adjusting Voltage and Current

The SPS3010-2KD uses encoder knobs for precise digital adjustment:

  1. Press the desired "CURRENT" or "VOLTAGE" knob to select the digit you wish to adjust (e.g., units, tens, decimals).
  2. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the value or counter-clockwise to decrease it.

5.2.1 Independent Mode (INDEP)

In Independent mode, Channel 1 (CH1) and Channel 2 (CH2) operate as two separate power supplies. Each channel's voltage and current can be set independently.

  • Adjust CH1 and CH2 voltage and current using their respective knobs.

5.2.2 Series Mode (SER)

In Series mode, the two channels are connected in series, doubling the output voltage while maintaining the current of a single channel. This is suitable for applications requiring higher voltage, such as creating positive and negative power outputs.

  • Press the "SER" button. The indicator light for SER will illuminate.
  • The output voltage will be the sum of CH1 and CH2 voltages (e.g., two 30V channels combine to 60V).
  • The output current will be limited by the lower current setting of the two channels (e.g., 10A).
  • Output is available from the dedicated SER/PAR output terminals.

5.2.3 Parallel Mode (PAR)

In Parallel mode, the two channels are connected in parallel, doubling the output current while maintaining the voltage of a single channel. This is ideal for applications requiring higher current.

  • Press the "PAR" button. The indicator light for PAR will illuminate.
  • The output current will be the sum of CH1 and CH2 currents (e.g., two 10A channels combine to 20A).
  • The output voltage will be limited by the lower voltage setting of the two channels (e.g., 30V).
