  1. Select Blade: Choose the appropriate blade cartridge for your desired cutting pattern (e.g., Straight, Dashed, Scallop). Refer to the blade descriptions below.
  2. Insert Blade: Securely insert the chosen blade cartridge into the ruler's groove as described in the Setup section.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the cutting mat and ruler with a soft, dry cloth to remove paper dust and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Blade Care: The blades are sharp. Handle them with care. When not in use, store blade cartridges in a safe place to prevent damage or injury.
  • Blade Replacement: If a blade becomes dull or damaged, replace the entire cartridge. Do not attempt to sharpen the blades yourself.
  • Storage: Store the paper trimmer in a dry, clean environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Uneven or Jagged Cuts:
    • Ensure the paper is properly aligned and held firmly by the ruler.
    • Check if the blade cartridge is securely inserted.
    • If using fancy blades or cutting thicker materials, reduce the number of sheets to one to ensure a clean cut.
    • The blade might be dull. Replace the blade cartridge if necessary.
  • Blade Not Moving Smoothly:
    • Check for any paper debris or obstructions in the ruler's groove. Clean if necessary.
    • Ensure the blade cartridge is correctly inserted and not jammed.

7. User Tips

  • For intricate designs or delicate paper, always test the cut on a scrap piece first.
  • When using the folding blade, ensure the paper is positioned accurately to achieve a crisp fold line.
  • Keep extra blade cartridges on hand, especially if you frequently use the fancy cutting styles, as these may wear faster with thicker materials.
  • The transparent ruler is excellent for precise alignment; utilize the grid lines on the cutting mat for perfect squares and rectangles.
