7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not pairing with app:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. 5GHz networks are not supported.
    • Check if the Wi-Fi indicator light on the device is blinking rapidly (pairing mode). If not, long-press the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds.
    • Ensure your phone is close to the device and connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network during pairing.
    • If the app fails to install or connect, try restarting your router and the device, then attempt pairing again.
  • Device not responding to app commands:
    • Check your Wi-Fi connection. The device requires a stable internet connection to receive commands.
    • Verify the device is powered on and the indicator light is solid blue (connected).
    • Ensure the app is updated to the latest version.
  • Device not working on output after connection:
    • Double-check the wiring according to the installation guide. Ensure Live (L) and Neutral (N) are correctly connected and power enters from the top.
    • Verify that the device is switched ON, both manually and via the app.
    • If using a Metering or VA Protect model, check the alarm settings in the app. An active protection (e.g., over-current, over-voltage) might have tripped the breaker.
  • Device trips frequently (Metering & VA Protect models):
    • Review the alarm settings in the app (Over-Voltage, Under-Voltage, Over-Current, High Power, Temperature Protection). The thresholds might be set too low for your connected load.
    • Ensure the connected load does not exceed the rated current of the device.
    • If temperature protection is active and tripping, ensure adequate ventilation around the device.

8. User Tips

  • Temperature Monitoring: For VA Protect models, the adjustable temperature protection (40℃-150℃) is a key safety feature. If the device frequently trips due to high temperature, investigate the cause of overheating in your electrical setup.
  • Router Reset: While the device can turn power on/off, using it for frequent router resets (e.g., every 30 seconds) might not be ideal. Consider dedicated network monitoring solutions for such tasks, though a scheduled power cycle is possible.
  • Energy Consumption Tracking: Utilize the energy monitoring features (on Metering and VA Protect models) to track consumption. This can help identify power-hungry appliances and manage energy usage effectively.
  • App Language: The Tuya Smart and Smart Life apps typically support multiple languages, including Spanish. Check the app settings for language options.
  • Circuit Breaker Functionality: The smart circuit breaker functions as a classic circuit breaker, providing essential protection against overloads and short circuits, in addition to its smart features.

9. Warranty and Support

For warranty information, technical support, or service inquiries, please contact your retailer or the manufacturer directly. Keep your purchase receipt as proof of purchase.
