2.2 Camera Components

The C300 series cameras feature a compact design with intuitive controls. Key components include:

• Lens: High-quality lens with 154° wide angle and F/2.0 aperture.
• Display Screen: 1.3-inch touch screen. The C300 (Long Version) features both front and rear touch screens.
• Power/Shutter Button: For turning the camera on/off and initiating recording/photo capture.
• Type-C USB Port: For charging and data transfer.
• Microphone: Built-in single microphone for audio input.

• Battery Compartment: For inserting the removable battery.

3. Getting Started

3.1 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the camera battery. Connect the camera to a USB power source using the provided Type-C USB cable. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

3.2 Inserting a MicroSD Card

The camera supports MicroSD/TF cards up to 128GB. Insert the card into the MicroSD card slot with the contacts facing the correct direction. Ensure the card is securely seated.

3.3 Attaching Accessories

The C300 series comes with various accessories for different mounting needs. Use the helmet mounts, flat bottom brackets, and back clips to secure your camera for activities like cycling, diving, or vlogging.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

• Power On: Press and hold the Power/Shutter button for a few seconds until the screen turns on.
• Power Off: Press and hold the Power/Shutter button for a few seconds until the screen turns off.

4.2 Basic Video Recording and Photo Capture

• Switch Modes: Tap the mode icon on the touchscreen to switch between video and photo modes.
• Start/Stop Recording: In video mode, press the Power/Shutter button once to start recording. Press again to stop.
• Take Photo: In photo mode, press the Power/Shutter button once to take a picture.

4.3 Advanced Shooting Modes

The C300 series offers various advanced modes for creative content creation:

• Video Modes: Normal mode, Time-lapse, Slow video, Car mode, Video+Photo, Pre-recorded.
• Photo Modes: Single shooting, Continuous shooting, Timed photo, Interval shooting, Delayed shooting, Face recognition.

4.4 Image Stabilization

The camera features 6-Axis Gyro image stabilization (EIS) to ensure smooth and steady footage. This can be toggled on/off via the camera settings.

4.5 Wi-Fi and SJCAM ZONE App

Connect your camera to the SJCAM ZONE app on your smartphone via 2.4G or 5G Wi-Fi for remote control, live preview, and media management. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.

4.6 Waterproof Usage

When equipped with the waterproof case, the camera can be used for shooting at depths of up to 30 meters. Ensure the case is securely closed and free of debris before entering water.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the camera lens and body. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Do not use harsh chemicals.
• Waterproof Case: After using the waterproof case in saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and let it air dry. Check the seals regularly for any damage.
• Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. If not using the camera for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% before storing.
• Storage: Store the camera in a protective case to prevent scratches and damage. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or high humidity.

6. Troubleshooting

• Camera not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. If using the C300 (Long Version), ensure both batteries are properly inserted.
• Recording stops unexpectedly: Check if the MicroSD card is full or if it's a low-speed card. Use a high-speed (Class 10 or U3 recommended) MicroSD card.
• Wi-Fi connection issues: Ensure the camera's Wi-Fi is enabled and you are within range. Try restarting both the camera and your smartphone.
• Poor image stabilization: Ensure the 6-axis gyro stabilization is enabled in the camera settings.
• Water leakage with waterproof case: Double-check that the waterproof case is properly closed and the rubber seals are clean and undamaged.

8. User Tips

• Conserve Battery: To extend battery life during recording, you can turn off the display screen. This is especially useful for longer shoots where a live preview isn't constantly needed.
• Optimal Stabilization: For the smoothest footage, ensure the 6-axis gyro stabilization is enabled in settings, particularly during high-motion activities like cycling or running.
• Waterproof Case Care: Always perform a dry test with the waterproof case before submerging your camera. Place a tissue inside the empty case and submerge it for 30 minutes to check for leaks.
• Memory Card Speed: For 4K recording, use a high-speed MicroSD card (U3 or V30 recommended) to prevent recording interruptions and ensure smooth video capture.
