7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Comfast WA900, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Ensure the PoE adapter is correctly connected and receiving power. Check the network cable connection to the AP's WAN port.
  • No WiFi Signal: Verify that the AP is powered on and its indicator lights are active. Check the network cable connection to the PoE injector/switch and ensure the upstream network is functioning.
  • Poor Signal/Slow Speed: Ensure the AP is mounted in an optimal location, free from major obstructions. Check for potential interference from other wireless devices. Consider adjusting antenna orientation if possible.
  • Cannot Access Management Interface: Verify your computer is connected to the network segment where the AP resides. Check the AP's IP address and ensure there are no IP conflicts.
  • Intermittent Connectivity: This could be due to environmental factors (weather, interference) or network issues. Check the AP's logs via the management interface for error messages. The automatic repair function should help with minor intermittent issues.

For persistent issues, consult the detailed Installation Guide or contact Comfast technical support.

8. User Tips

  • Optimal Placement: For best 360-degree coverage, mount the AP in a central, elevated location with minimal physical obstructions.
  • Cable Management: Use high-quality, outdoor-rated Ethernet cables for PoE connections to ensure durability and prevent signal degradation.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates. Keeping your AP's firmware up-to-date can improve performance, stability, and security.
  • Security: Always use strong, unique passwords for your WiFi networks (both 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz) and the AP's management interface. Utilize WPA2 (AES) encryption for maximum security.
  • Monitoring: If using AC management, regularly monitor network performance and connected devices to identify and address potential issues proactively.
