4. Setup and Installation
Please follow these steps carefully for proper installation. It is recommended to wear gloves during installation to keep components clean.
4.1 Shifter Installation
- Remove the existing grip and brake lever from your handlebar.
- Secure the EDS OX shifter in a suitable position on the handlebar.
- Use a 5mm Allen wrench to tighten the screw on the shifter clamp.
- Reinstall the brake lever.
- Reinstall the grip and tighten its screws.
- Slide the switch on the shifter to the "T" position.
- Rotate and open the rear cover of the shifter using a coin.
- Insert a CR2032 battery into the shifter.
- Close the rear cover and slide the switch to "N" to prepare for pairing with the rear derailleur.
4.2 Rear Derailleur Installation
- Align the rear derailleur with the dropout on your bicycle frame.
- Tighten the mounting screws using a 5mm hex key.
- Thread the chain through the rear derailleur. Ensure the chain passes above the small metal plate.
- Align the chain with the smallest gear on the cassette and thread it through the derailleur.
- Align the chain with the freewheel teeth.
- Align both ends of the chain.
- Securely close the chain using a chain tool.
- Use a 5mm hex key to adjust the adjustment bolt according to your actual needs for proper chain tension.
- Use a 5mm hex key to adjust the high limit bolt to prevent the chain from overshifting off the largest cog.
- Use a 5mm hex key to adjust the low limit bolt to prevent the chain from overshifting off the smallest cog.
- Installation is complete. Carefully check if all bolts are tightened and the chain moves freely.

5.1 Basic Shifting
The EDS OX shifter features a user-friendly button design for easy and quick gear shifting. Press the buttons to shift up or down through your gears.
5.2 APP Pairing and Fine-Tuning
The system supports convenient APP pairing for fine-tuning and monitoring.
- To enter fine-tuning/pairing mode, a blue light will illuminate on the shifter.
- The rear derailleur will indicate pairing mode with continuous blinking.
- Use the dedicated mobile application to connect to your EDS OX system for adjustments and to view battery levels.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Charging
The rear derailleur features magnetic charging for convenience.
- The rear derailleur has an 800mAh battery capacity.
- Use a 5V/1A charger. A full charge typically takes only 2 hours.
- A red light indicates charging, and a green light indicates charging is complete.
- Important: Please stop charging and remove the battery if the green light is not on after 6 hours of charging to prevent overcharging.
- The shifter uses a CR2032 battery. Replace it when the battery level is low.
6.2 Water Resistance
The system offers daily splash resistance, suitable for rides in light rain. However, avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain to prevent damage.

7.1 General Precautions

- Do not remove the battery from the shifter while performing shifting operations.
- If any improper operation occurs during pairing, the entire pairing process should be repeated.
- After each magnetic connection (e.g., charging), the system may enter pairing mode by default, and the rear derailleur indicator will flash blue. If already paired, no special attention is needed.
- There is no need to re-pair the system after each charging operation.
- If any part of the system is replaced, added, or removed, the pairing process must be repeated.

- Ensure your handlebar diameter is approximately 22.2mm for proper shifter fit.
