2. Safety Information

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The HT5205 is powered by 8x1.5V AA(LR) batteries. Batteries are not included in the product package.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Use a suitable tool to open the battery cover.
  3. Insert 8x1.5V AA(LR) batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Securely close the battery cover.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 AC/DC Voltage Measurement

To measure AC or DC voltage:

  1. Rotate the rotary switch to the AC/DC-V position.
  2. Press the 'DAR/PI AC/DC' button to switch between AC and DC voltage measurement modes as needed.
  3. Insert the red test lead into the V terminal and the black test lead into the G terminal.
  4. Connect the test leads to the circuit or power source to be tested.
  5. Read the measurement results from the display screen.

5.2 Insulation Resistance Timed Measurement

For timed insulation resistance tests:

  1. Adjust the function switch knob to the desired insulation test voltage (e.g., 100V, 250V, 500V, 1000V, 2500V).
  2. Connect the test leads to the device under test, ensuring the red lead is in the LINE terminal and the black lead is in the EARTH terminal.
  3. Press the 'TIMER' button to activate the timed measurement function.
  4. Press the 'TEST' button to initiate the insulation test.
  5. The instrument will perform the test for the set time and automatically stop.
  6. Read the insulation resistance value from the display.

5.3 Continuity Measurement

To check for continuity:

  1. Rotate the switch knob to the '))) Ω' position.
  2. Insert the red test lead into the EARTH terminal and the black test lead into the G terminal.
  3. Connect the test leads to the object being measured.
  4. Read the measurement results from the display screen.
  5. The buzzer will sound if the measured resistance is less than 500Ω, indicating continuity. The measurement range is 0.19Ω to 200.0Ω.

5.4 Equipment Insulation Test

To perform an equipment insulation test:

  1. Adjust the function switch knob to the appropriate voltage range for the insulation test.
  2. Insert the red meter pen into the LINE terminal of the instrument.
  3. Insert the black meter pen into the EARTH terminal of the instrument.
  4. Connect the test leads to the device to be tested.
  5. Press the 'TEST' button to begin the measurement.

7. Maintenance
