Setup
1. Unfolding and Folding the Gimbal
Unfolding Gimbal: Grip the arm of the Smart XE gimbal and unfold it until it locks. Mount your cellphone to the clip, then level it up to start using.
Folding Gimbal: Rotate the gimbal arm until its folding position aligns with the operation panel. Fasten the tilt axis buckle. Make the mobile clip buckle inside, then fold the gimbal arm as per the direction of the yellow arrow.
2. Mounting Your Smartphone
Gently pull open the smartphone clip and securely place your phone in the center. Ensure the phone is balanced to prevent strain on the gimbal motors. The gimbal supports mobile devices with a width between 55-90mm.
3. App Download and Connection
To unlock the full potential of your Smart XE gimbal, download the official "AOCHUAN" app. Scan the QR code below or search "AOCHUAN" in your app store (available for iOS and Android).
After installing the app, turn on your gimbal and enable Bluetooth on your smartphone. Open the AOCHUAN app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your Smart XE gimbal. The Bluetooth connected indicator on the gimbal will light up when successfully paired.
Operating Instructions
1. Gimbal Controls and Indicators
- Gimbal Mode Indication:
- F: Normal mode
- POV: Cool mode
- DM: Rotation mode
- GO: Go mode
- Bluetooth Indicator: Lights up when connected, off when disconnected.
- Battery Life Indication: Shows 20%, 40%, 70%, 100%. The 'F' indicator double flashes when battery life is less than 15%.
- Joystick: Move up/down/left/right for camera control.
- Single click: Switch F / POV mode.
- Double click: Reposition the gimbal.
- Triple click: DM / Automatic rotation.
- Hold down: Go mode.
- Focus Roller (requires APP connection): Adjusts focus point (virtual and real).
- Zoom Toggle (requires APP connection): Adjusts focal length/distance.
- Photo/Video Button:
- Single click: Take photo / Start/stop video recording.
- Double click: Switch between landscape and portrait orientation.
- Power Button:
- Long press: Power on / off.
- Double click: Check battery life.
2. Advanced Features (via AOCHUAN App)
The AOCHUAN app unlocks various intelligent shooting modes and tracking capabilities:
- Face & Body Tracking: Automatically recognize and track faces or bodies, keeping your subject in frame.
- Object Tracking: Select an object on screen, and the gimbal will track its movement.
- Live Broadcasting Tracking: Supports active tracking for physical cameras, beautify camera apps, TikTok, and other live broadcasting platforms.
- Hitchcock Zoom: Cinematic zoom effect.
- Track Delay Photography: Create dynamic time-lapse videos.
- Gesture Photography: Control photo/video capture using hand gestures (e.g., OK gesture to start tracking, Palm to start photo/video, Fist to switch photo/video, Both thumbs up to switch portrait/landscape, Dual L to pause gesture control).
- Panorama Shooting: Capture wide panoramic shots.
- Smart Templates: Pre-set shooting templates for various scenarios.
3. Magnetic RGB Fill Light (Optional Accessory)
If you have the "With Light" version or purchased the RGB Magnetic Light separately, it can be attached to the gimbal's mobile clip. It offers three levels of brightness and seven colors, including monochrome, multi-color gradient, and red/blue flash, to easily control background atmosphere lighting for live streaming, vlogging, or still photography.

Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions:
- Gimbal not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Long press the power button to turn on.
- Gimbal not connecting to phone via Bluetooth: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the AOCHUAN app is open. Try restarting both the gimbal and your phone.
- Gimbal not stabilizing or vibrating: Ensure your smartphone is properly balanced in the clip. Recalibrate the gimbal through the app if necessary.
- Tracking features not working: Ensure the AOCHUAN app is running and connected. For AI tracking, ensure you have the "With AI Module" version. Check app settings for tracking activation.
- Phone too heavy/unstable: The gimbal supports phones with a payload of less than 250g and widths between 55-90mm. Ensure your phone meets these specifications.
- Buttons unresponsive: Ensure the gimbal is powered on and connected. If issues persist, try restarting the gimbal.

- App is Key: For full functionality, including advanced tracking, focus control, and zoom, ensure you download and connect to the official AOCHUAN app.
- AI Tracking: If you want AI-powered face/body/object tracking without needing the app, ensure you purchase the "With AI Module" version. The basic version does not include this module.
- Magnetic Light: The magnetic RGB fill light is an optional accessory. If you want it, make sure to select the "With Light" version or purchase it separately. The "With AI Module" version does not include the light.
- Tripod Use: The gimbal has a standard 1/4" screw interface at the bottom, allowing it to be mounted on a tripod or extension rod for stable shots.
