Setup and Basic Operation
The Opansten BT-B21 is a versatile 3-in-1 device. Before use, ensure the device is charged. Refer to the "Battery and Charging" section for details.
Device Overview

Power On/Off
Locate the power switch on the side of the device. Slide it to the "ON" position to power on, and "OFF" to power off.
Mode Selection
The BT-B21 supports three modes: Transmitter (TX), Receiver (RX), and Bypass. Use the mode switch (TX/RX/Bypass) on the side of the device to select the desired operating mode.
- TX Mode: Transmits audio from non-Bluetooth devices (e.g., TV, PC) to Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
- RX Mode: Receives audio from Bluetooth-enabled devices (e.g., smartphone, tablet) and outputs to non-Bluetooth speakers or stereo systems.
- Bypass Mode: Allows a wired connection to pass through the device without Bluetooth functionality, useful for switching between wired and wireless audio without re-cabling.
Operating Modes
1. Transmitter (TX) Mode
In TX mode, the BT-B21 transmits audio from your non-Bluetooth devices (like a TV, PC, or iPod) to your Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
- Set the mode switch to "TX".
- Connect the BT-B21 to your audio source (e.g., TV) using an appropriate audio cable (Optical, 3.5mm AUX, or RCA).
- Power on the BT-B21. It will automatically enter pairing mode (indicated by a flashing LED).
- Put your Bluetooth headphones or speakers into pairing mode.
- The BT-B21 will automatically connect to your Bluetooth audio device. Once connected, the LED indicator will show a solid light.

2. Receiver (RX) Mode
In RX mode, the BT-B21 receives audio wirelessly from your Bluetooth-enabled devices (like a smartphone or tablet) and outputs it to your non-Bluetooth stereo system, amplifier, or speakers.
- Set the mode switch to "RX".
- Connect the BT-B21 to your audio receiving device (e.g., amplifier, speakers) using an appropriate audio cable (Optical, 3.5mm AUX, or RCA).
- Power on the BT-B21. It will automatically enter pairing mode.
- Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet and search for "BT-B21" (or similar name).
- Select "BT-B21" to pair. Once connected, the LED indicator will show a solid light.

3. Bypass Mode (Wired Connection)
Bypass mode allows you to use the BT-B21 as a pass-through for wired audio, eliminating the need to constantly plug and unplug cables when switching between wired and wireless audio. In this mode, the device acts as a direct audio connection without Bluetooth functionality.
- Set the mode switch to "Bypass".
- Connect your audio source (e.g., TV) to the "TX Input" ports of the BT-B21.
- Connect your audio output device (e.g., soundbar, speakers) to the "RX Output" ports of the BT-B21.
- Audio will now pass directly from your source to your output device via the wired connection.

NFC Instant Connection (RX Mode Only)
The BT-B21 supports NFC for quick and easy pairing in Receiver (RX) mode. This feature simplifies the pairing process, eliminating the need for manual Bluetooth searching.
- Ensure your mobile phone has NFC functionality enabled.
- Set the BT-B21 to RX mode and ensure it is in pairing mode.
- Place your NFC-enabled smartphone close to the NFC logo on the BT-B21 adapter.
- Your phone should automatically detect and connect to the BT-B21.
Note: NFC pairing is only supported in RX mode.

Dual Stream and Multi-Point Connection
Dual Stream (TX Mode)
The BT-B21 supports Dual Stream in Transmitter (TX) mode, allowing you to connect two Bluetooth headphones or speakers simultaneously to the same audio source. This is ideal for sharing audio with another person.
- Connect the BT-B21 to your audio source and set it to TX mode.
- Pair the first Bluetooth headphone/speaker as described in the TX Mode section.
- Once the first device is connected, put the second Bluetooth headphone/speaker into pairing mode.
- The BT-B21 will automatically search and connect to the second device.
Note: For optimal performance and to achieve aptX Low Latency, it is recommended to pair two audio receiving devices of the same brand.

Multi-Point Connection (RX Mode)
In Receiver (RX) mode, the BT-B21 supports Multi-Point Connection, allowing you to connect two smartphones or tablets to the adapter simultaneously. This enables easy switching between audio sources without re-pairing.
- Connect the BT-B21 to your audio output device and set it to RX mode.
- Pair the first smartphone/tablet as described in the RX Mode section.
- Once the first device is connected, enable Bluetooth on the second smartphone/tablet and connect to the BT-B21.
- You can now play audio from either connected device, with the last played device taking priority.
Battery and Charging
The BT-B21 features a built-in 1000mAh rechargeable lithium battery, providing extended usage times.
- Working Time (TX Mode): Approximately 15 hours of continuous audio streaming.
- Working Time (RX Mode): Approximately 20 hours of continuous audio streaming.
- Charging Time: Approximately 4.5 hours for a full charge.
The device can be used while charging. Connect the provided Micro USB charging cable to the BT-B21's charging port and a standard USB power adapter (DC 5V).

Troubleshooting
- Issue: Difficulty pairing with Sony Bluetooth headphones/earphones/headphones in TX mode.
- Solution: Sony Bluetooth audio devices use a special encoding method that is not publicly accessible. When pairing with the BT-B21 in transmitter mode, it may take a longer time to establish a connection. The pairing time varies depending on the specific Sony model, but they should eventually pair successfully.
- Issue: Experiencing sound delay (lip-sync issues) when watching TV/movies in TX mode.
- Solution: To eliminate Bluetooth audio delay, ensure that both the BT-B21 and your connected Bluetooth headphones/speakers support aptX Low Latency (aptX LL) technology. If your receiving device does not support aptX LL, a slight delay may occur. The BT-B21 itself supports aptX LL, but the entire audio chain must support it for a truly lag-free experience.
- Issue: Limited Bluetooth range or unstable connection.
- Solution: Ensure there are no significant physical obstructions (thick walls, metal objects) between the BT-B21 and the connected Bluetooth device. While the device offers a long range, dense obstacles can reduce performance. Also, ensure both antennas are properly oriented for optimal signal reception/transmission.
- Issue: NFC pairing not working.
- Solution: Verify that your mobile phone's NFC function is enabled and that the BT-B21 is set to RX mode and in pairing state. NFC pairing is only available in RX mode.

User Tips
- Maximize Range: For the best long-range performance (up to 80m/262ft outdoors, 30m/100ft indoors), ensure a clear line-of-sight between the adapter and your connected Bluetooth device.
- Achieve No Lip-Sync Delay: If watching videos, ensure both the BT-B21 and your Bluetooth headphones/speakers support aptX Low Latency (aptX LL) for perfect audio-visual synchronization.
- Dual Stream Pairing: When using Dual Stream in TX mode, pairing two headphones/speakers of the same brand can help ensure consistent audio quality and latency.
- NFC Convenience: Utilize the NFC function in RX mode for quick and effortless pairing with compatible smartphones.
- Bypass Mode for Flexibility: Use Bypass mode to seamlessly switch between wired and wireless audio without constantly re-cabling your setup.
- Bluetooth Extender: The BT-B21 can act as a Bluetooth extender. Connect it via cable to weak wireless audio devices or pair it with another Bluetooth adapter to boost the signal.
