3.1 Initial Device Setup

1. Charging: Connect the device to the charger using the provided Type-C charger cable and appropriate adapter (US, EU, or EN). Ensure the device is fully charged before first use.
2. Power On: Press and hold the Power button located on the side of the device to turn it on.
3. Activation: Activate the device using your email address and the serial number (S/N) found on the back of the product.
4. Wi-Fi Connection: Connect the device to a stable Wi-Fi network for software updates and online functionalities.

3.2 Language Setting

The default language is English. To change the language:

1. Activate the device with your email address and serial number.
2. Send the device's serial number to XTOOL customer support to authorize the desired language.
3. Navigate to 'Settings' on the device and switch to your preferred language.
4. Click 'Update Device' to download and install the language pack.

Note: Contact XTOOL customer service with your S/N for language authorization.

4.1 Full System Diagnostics

The InPlus IP616 provides OE-level diagnostic access to all available electronic control modules (ECUs) in your vehicle. This includes systems such as Engine, Transmission, ABS, Airbag, Brake System, Chassis, HVAC, and more.

1. Auto VIN & Scan: The device can quickly identify the vehicle via its VIN and automatically scan all diagnosable ECUs. For vehicles not supporting auto-scan, manual VIN input is available.
2. Read ECU Information: Retrieve detailed information about the vehicle's control units.
3. Read Trouble Codes (DTCs): Display current, pending, and permanent diagnostic trouble codes.
4. Clear Trouble Codes (DTCs): Erase diagnostic trouble codes from the vehicle's memory.
5. Live Data: View real-time data parameters from various sensors and systems.
6. Read Freeze Frame: Capture a snapshot of sensor values when a DTC is set.

4.2 Special Functions (34+ Reset Services)

The InPlus IP616 Key Fob Programmer can enhance car security systems by allowing you to manage vehicle keys. This includes:

• Read PIN Code / PIN Code Calculation: Retrieve necessary codes for key programming.
• Check Number of Keys: Verify the number of programmed keys.
• Generate Dealer Key: Create new dealer keys.
• Add Key: Program new keys to the vehicle.
• All Key Lost: Program new keys even when all original keys are lost.

Note: Not all cars support key programming. Please send your specific car model to XTOOL customer support to check compatibility before purchasing.

4.5 FCA AutoAuth Functions

The InPlus IP616 supports access to the Security Gateway Module (SGM) on 2018 and newer Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, and Alfa Romeo vehicles. This allows for reading and clearing codes, and performing bi-directional controls without needing an FCA 12+8 cable.

Note: Users are required to register an FCA account independently. Any charges related to FCA account registration are not covered by XTOOL.

4.6 CAN FD & DoIP Protocol Support

The InPlus IP616 is equipped with advanced protocol support:

• CAN FD Protocol: Supports General Motors (GM) 2020+ models, including GM, GMC, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and Buick vehicles. No additional CAN FD adapter is required.
• DoIP Protocol: Compatible with BMW (F&G chassis), Volvo (2018 and later models), and Land Rover & Jaguar (2017 and later models).

• ECU Configuration for Performance Chips: The ECU Configuration feature allows for fine-tuning settings and activating/disabling hidden functions for compatible vehicles (BMW, VW, AUDI, SKODA, TOYOTA, LEXUS, SCION, MAZDA, FORD, LINCOLN). It does not support installing performance chips or ECU programming. For performance upgrades, consult a specialist.

• Version Selection: Be aware of regional versions (e.g., EU Version vs. Global Version). EU versions may have IP restrictions and can only be used in Europe. Global versions can be used worldwide.
