2. Network Connection

The ESCAM QF800 supports two main connection methods:

a. WiFi Connection (Recommended for Remote Surveillance)

  1. Download the App: Search for the recommended camera application (e.g., 'Other' as indicated in specifications, please refer to packaging for exact app name) on your mobile device's app store (Android/iOS).
  2. Register/Login: Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to register a new account or log in if you already have one.
  3. Add Device: In the app, select 'Add Device' or a similar option. Choose 'WiFi Camera' or 'Wireless Camera'.
  4. Connect to WiFi: Follow the app's instructions to connect the camera to your home WiFi network. This usually involves scanning a QR code on the camera or entering your WiFi credentials.
  5. Completion: Once connected, the camera will appear in your app, ready for live viewing and configuration.

b. AP Connection (Direct Phone Connection without Router)

This method allows direct connection between your phone and the camera's built-in access point, useful for initial setup or when a router is not available. Note that remote access will be limited in this mode.

  1. Activate AP Mode: Refer to the camera's specific instructions (often a button press or power cycle sequence) to activate AP mode. The camera will broadcast its own WiFi signal.
  2. Connect Phone to Camera AP: On your mobile phone, go to WiFi settings and connect to the camera's WiFi network (e.g., 'IPC-XXXXXX').
  3. Open App: Launch the camera app and select the AP connection option to access the camera directly.

2. AI Humanoid Detection & Automatic Tracking

The camera utilizes advanced AI to detect human shapes. When a human is detected, the camera can automatically track their movement within its field of view. This feature helps in reducing false alarms triggered by pets or other non-human objects.

  • Enable/Disable: Access the camera settings in the app to enable or disable humanoid detection and automatic tracking.
  • Alerts: Configure the app to receive alarm snapshots and push notifications when humanoid detection is triggered.

3. Alert Area Configuration

You can define specific 'alert areas' within the camera's view. If motion is detected within these designated areas, the camera will trigger an alarm. You can also customize the alarm sound.

  • Set Area: In the app settings, navigate to 'Alert Area' or 'Motion Detection Zone' to draw and configure your desired surveillance zones.
  • Alarm Settings: Choose from different alarm sounds or record your own.

6. Video Recording and Storage

The camera supports both cloud storage and local storage via a TF (MicroSD) card (up to 128GB).

  • TF Card Installation: Locate the TF card slot on the camera (usually under a protective cover). Insert a compatible TF card (Class 10 or higher recommended) with the contacts facing the correct direction.
  • Cloud Storage: Follow the instructions in the mobile app to subscribe to and configure cloud storage services.
  • Playback: Recorded footage can be accessed and played back through the mobile app.

7. H.265X Video Compression

The camera uses H.265X video compression technology, which provides clearer image quality at a lower bit rate compared to older standards like H.264. This significantly reduces the required storage space and bandwidth for video transmission.

  • Network Stability: A stable WiFi connection is crucial for consistent performance. Ensure your router is functioning correctly and the camera is within optimal range.

Troubleshooting

  • Camera Offline: Check power connection, WiFi signal strength, and router status. Restart the camera and router. Re-add the camera in the app if necessary.
  • No Image/Black Screen: Verify power, network connection, and ensure the lens is not obstructed.
  • Motion Detection Not Working: Ensure motion detection is enabled in the app settings. Check the sensitivity level and alert area configuration.
  • Poor Night Vision: Ensure the camera lens is clean. Check the selected night vision mode in the app.
  • Two-Way Audio Issues: Check microphone and speaker permissions for the app on your phone. Ensure volume levels are adequate.
  • TF Card Not Recording: Ensure the TF card is inserted correctly and is not full. Format the TF card through the app if issues persist.
