The PIR motion sensor utilizes fuzzy logic processing technology and intelligent analysis algorithms to accurately interpret signals.
The PIR motion sensor alarm can be operated directly via buttons on the unit or with the included remote control. Multiple remote controls can be linked to the CPVAN Home Alarm System, allowing various users to arm or disarm the sensor. Furthermore, the system supports integration with other CPVAN Home Alarm System components, such as Door & Window sensors or additional PIR sensors, to expand its capabilities.

3. Product Overview
3.1. PIR Motion Sensor Alarm Unit

4. Setup
4.1. First Preparation (Battery Installation)
To prepare your CP2 PIR Motion Sensor Alarm for use:
- Slide off the back lid of the main alarm unit.
- Insert 3 AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment.
- Close the lid securely.
For the remote control:
- Remove the screw on the back of the remote control.
- Remove the back panel.
- Insert a CR2025 (3V) lithium battery (not included).
- Replace the back panel and screw.

Your system should now be ready for use.
4.2. Installation
The CPVAN motion sensor alarm comes with an installation tool, double-sided tape, and screws. You can choose to mount it using screws or adhesive tape based on your preference and surface type.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Understanding Button Presses
There are two types of button presses for the alarm unit:
- Short press: Press the button for 1 second or less.
- Long press: Keep the button pressed for 5 seconds. This is typically used to enter programming or pairing modes to prevent accidental setting changes.
5.2. Switching the Unit ON/OFF
- To switch ON: Long press the On/Off button (β) on the Alarm Unit. You will hear one short beep, and the red detection light on the front will light up once. The unit will start in armed mode by default.
- To switch OFF: Long press the On/Off button (β) on the Alarm Unit. You will hear one long beep, and the red detection light on the front will light up once.
5.3. Arming and Disarming the PIR Motion Sensor
The unit has a memory function, resuming its last armed/disarmed state upon startup.
- To Arm: Short press the On/Off button (β) on the Alarm Unit. You will hear one beep, and the detector light will light up once. Alternatively, press the Arm button on the remote control.
- To Disarm: Short press the On/Off button (β) on the Alarm Unit. You will hear two beeps, and the detector light will flash twice. Alternatively, press the Disarm button on the remote control.
5.4. Changing Sound and Adjusting Volume
- Changing the sound: Short press the Mode button (βͺ) to switch between sounds (Siren or Chime). Each press will play a short sample of the selected sound.
- Adjusting the volume: Short press the Volume/Pairing button (π) to adjust the volume. There are two volume levels.
5.5. Stopping the Siren Alarm Sound
If the siren is triggered, you can stop it in three ways:
- Short press the Mode button (βͺ) or the Volume/Pairing button (π) on the alarm unit. The sound will stop, and the unit will remain armed.
- Short press the On/Off button (β) on the Alarm Unit. You will hear two short beeps, the alarm sound will stop, and the PIR motion sensor alarm will be disarmed. Short press the On/Off button (β) again to re-arm it.
- Press the Arm or Disarm button on the remote control. Pressing the Arm button stops the alarm and keeps the unit armed. Pressing the Disarm button stops the alarm and disarms the unit.
6. Pairing Remote Controls and Sensors
6.1. Pairing with a New Remote Control
Your PIR motion sensor alarm is pre-paired with the supplied remote control. To add additional remote controls:
- Ensure the PIR motion sensor alarm is ON.
- On the PIR motion sensor alarm, long press the Volume/Pairing button (π) to enter pairing mode. The detector light will light up continuously.
- Press any button on your new remote control. You will hear two beeps to indicate correct pairing.
- Short press the Volume/Pairing button (π) to exit the pairing mode. Your remote has now been paired.
Each PIR motion sensor alarm can be paired with 5 or more remote controls. A single remote control can also manage multiple PIR motion sensors simultaneously.

6.2. Pairing with CPVAN Alarm System Sensors
You can extend your PIR motion sensor alarm system by wirelessly connecting additional sensors from the CPVAN Home Alarm System, such as Door & Window sensors or other PIR Motion Sensors. Triggering any paired sensor will cause your PIR motion sensor alarm to sound either a Siren or a Chime.

To add sensors, follow this procedure:
- Long press the Volume/Pairing button (π) on the alarm unit to enter pairing mode. The detector light will light up continuously.
- Activate your sensor:
- For a Door & Window sensor, separate the magnet from the sensor.
- For a PIR sensor, wave your hand in front of it.
- You will hear two beeps, indicating a correct pairing.
- Short press the Volume/Pairing button (π) to exit pairing mode.
Emergency Sensors:
Sensors can be configured as "emergency sensors," which are always active and will trigger an alarm even if the CP2 PIR motion sensor alarm is disarmed. To pair an emergency sensor, follow the same steps above, but use the Mode button (βͺ) instead of the Volume/Pairing button (π) to enter and exit pairing mode. If an emergency sensor triggers the alarm, you can stop it by pressing any of the three buttons on the PIR motion sensor alarm unit.
7. Deleting Remote Controls and Sensors
To delete all paired remote controls and sensors from the CP2 PIR Motion Sensor Alarm:
- Ensure the PIR motion sensor alarm is ON.
- Long press the Volume/Pairing button (π) on the alarm unit to enter pairing mode. The detection light will turn on.
- Long press the Volume/Pairing button (π) again. You will hear 5 beeps, and the light will flash. This indicates that all previously paired remote controls and normal sensors have been disconnected.
- Short press the Volume/Pairing button (π) to exit the settings mode.
IMPORTANT: Emergency sensors can only be deleted by performing a factory reset (see Section 9).
8. Maintenance
8.1. Changing Batteries
Low Battery Indication:
When the batteries are running low, the detector light will flash once every 40 seconds, and a beeping sound will be heard. Please change the batteries promptly.
PIR Motion Sensor Alarm Unit Batteries:
Slide off the back panel and replace the batteries with 3x AA size 1.5V Alkaline batteries.
Remote Control Battery:
The battery can be changed by removing the screw on the back of the remote control. Remove the back panel and replace the battery with a CR2025 (3V) Lithium battery.
9. Reset to Factory Settings
Follow this procedure to reset the PIR motion sensor alarm to its factory settings, which will also disconnect all paired remote controls and emergency sensors.
- Ensure the device is switched ON.
- Remove one or all batteries from the main alarm unit.
- Press and hold the Mode button (βͺ).
- While holding the Mode button, re-insert the battery.
- You will hear 10 beeps, followed by another 5 quick beeps.
- Release the Mode button (βͺ).
The factory reset is now complete. Your PIR motion sensor alarm will resume in Armed mode.

IMPORTANT:
The infrared detector is more sensitive to vertical movements than horizontal movements. For optimal performance, aim the device at a 90-degree angle to a person's expected walking direction. The PIR motion sensor alarm detects signals up to 8 meters.
11. Troubleshooting
- Q: The PIR motion sensor alarm is on but does not detect any motion.
- A: The system might not be armed. Short press the On/Off button (β) to arm the device. The device remembers its last setting; if it was disarmed when switched off, it will be disarmed when switched on again. Pressing the On/Off button (β) briefly will arm the device again.
- Q: The PIR does not enter pairing mode when pressing the Volume/Pairing or Mode button.
- A: The device might be switched off. Long press the On/Off button (β) to switch the unit on. Then, long press the Volume/Pairing button (π) or Mode button (βͺ) to enter pairing mode.
- Q: The device does not switch on.
- A: Check the batteries. They might be empty or incorrectly inserted.
- Q: The device signals motion when there is no motion ("false alarms").
- A1: The PIR motion sensor alarm is activated by infrared light and can be triggered by direct sunlight. It is advised to keep the device out of direct sunlight.
- A2: Animals like dogs, birds, and cats are known to trigger PIR motion sensors. Consider placement to avoid pets.
- Q: The remote-control indicator light is on when I press a button, but the PIR motion detector does not react to it.
- A1: The signal might not penetrate walls or cover large distances. Try moving closer to the alarm unit.
- A2: Try opening the remote control and taking the battery out and back in again.
- A3: The remote control battery is running out of power. Insert a new CR2025 battery.
- Q: I have connected a Door & Window sensor, and I cannot change the alarm sound from siren to chime.
- A: If you installed your Door & Window sensor in Emergency mode, the siren sound is the only option. It cannot be changed unless you delete the sensor and reconnect it in normal mode (using the Volume/Pairing button (π) for pairing).
- Q: How long does it take for the PIR motion detector alarm to be set up?
- A: Setup typically takes about 30 seconds.
- Q: Once the alarm has been triggered, does it switch off automatically after a certain time?
- A: The door chime sounds once. The alarm siren continues to sound until you use the remote control or approach the alarm unit to switch it off.
- Q: How do I exit the alarm area when I switch on the alarm?
- A: After activating the motion detector, there is a 3-second delay before it is fully triggered, allowing you to leave the alarm area. You can also activate/deactivate the alarm from outside using the remote control.
- Q: How many times does it detect motion?
- A: The product has a detection angle of 110 degrees and a detection range of 8m, so it can potentially detect motion multiple times within its field of view as long as motion persists.
12. User Tips
- Optimal Placement: For best detection accuracy, position the sensor to detect vertical movement, such as across a doorway or hallway, rather than directly facing an entry point.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: To prevent false alarms, ensure the sensor is not exposed to direct sunlight.
- Pet Awareness: Be mindful that pets can trigger the motion sensor. Adjust placement if false alarms from pets are an issue.
- Exit Delay: When arming the unit manually, remember the 3-second exit delay to avoid triggering the alarm yourself.
- Remote Control Convenience: Utilize the remote control for convenient arming/disarming, especially if the alarm unit is mounted in a hard-to-reach location.
- Battery Check: Pay attention to the low battery warning (flashing light and beeping sound) to ensure continuous protection.
13. Safety & Warnings
13.1. Important Safety Information
Read all instructions before use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the product or personal injury.
- Children: Keep the device, its batteries, and small accessories (screws, mount) out of reach of children under 3 years old to prevent choking, swallowing, or other personal injuries.
- Environment: Do not expose the device to direct sunlight, water, moisture, or high humidity environments for a long time, as this may cause device malfunction, false alarms, or component damage.
- Batteries: Use only the specified battery types: 3x 1.5V AA alkaline batteries for the PIR sensor alarm and CR2025 (3V) lithium battery for the remote control. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries to avoid battery leakage, overheating, or explosion.
- Disassembly: Do not disassemble, modify, repair, or refit the device by non-professionals. Any unauthorized disassembly will void the product warranty and may cause electric shock or device failure.
- Heat Sources: Keep the device away from heat sources (stoves, heaters, radiators, etc.) to prevent plastic deformation and component damage due to high temperature.
- Intended Use: Do not use this product for any purpose other than human motion detection and home/shop security alarm; improper use may lead to inaccurate detection and safety risks.
- Siren Volume: The alarm sound reaches 125dB. Avoid close contact with the siren when the alarm is triggered to prevent hearing damage.
13.2. Button/Coin Cell Battery Warning
INGESTION HAZARD: This product contains a button cell or coin battery.
- DEATH or serious injury can occur if ingested.
- A swallowed button cell or coin battery can cause Internal Chemical Burns in as little as 2 hours.
- KEEP new and used batteries OUT OF REACH of CHILDREN.
- Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is suspected to be swallowed or inserted inside any part of the body.
