1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your Seaflo Electric Toilet Pump. This pump is designed for use in RV and marine environments, offering a convenient electric flushing solution for existing manual toilets or as a replacement unit.
The Seaflo electric toilet pump integrates the cleaning and sewage pump with an electric switch, simplifying operation and installation. It features a self-priming design that rinses the bowl and a macerating waste pump to evacuate waste effectively.

2. Safety Information
- Electrical Safety: Ensure all electrical connections are made by a qualified technician and comply with local regulations. Disconnect power before installation or maintenance.
- Voltage Compatibility: Use only with the specified voltage (12V or 24V) for your model. Incorrect voltage can damage the pump and pose a safety hazard.
- Liquid Compatibility: This pump is designed for water and waste. DO NOT PUMP FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS or corrosive chemicals, as this can cause fire, explosion, or pump damage.
- Thermal Protection: The pump motor is thermally protected. If it overheats, it will shut off automatically and restart once cooled. Investigate the cause of overheating if this occurs frequently.
- Secure Installation: Ensure the pump is securely mounted to prevent movement and potential damage during operation.

5. Installation
The Seaflo Electric Toilet Pump is designed for flexible installation, supporting both left and right-handed configurations. It is also noted to be interchangeable with JABSCO components, offering versatility for upgrades or replacements.
General Steps:
- Preparation: Ensure the vessel's power supply is disconnected. Gather all necessary tools and additional plumbing components (hoses, clamps, sealant) not included with the pump.
- Mounting: Securely mount the pump assembly to a stable surface. Refer to the dimension diagrams (Figures 3 and 4) for appropriate spacing and orientation for horizontal or vertical models.
- Plumbing Connections: Connect the inlet and outlet hoses to the pump. Ensure all connections are watertight using appropriate clamps and marine-grade sealant. The pump features a built-in backflow preventer.
- Electrical Wiring: Connect the pump to the appropriate 12V or 24V DC power supply. Ensure correct polarity (red wire to positive, black wire to negative). Install an appropriately sized fuse in the positive line close to the power source. Consult a wiring diagram if unsure.
- Testing: Once all connections are secure, restore power and test the pump with fresh water to check for leaks and proper operation before full use.

6. Operation
The Seaflo Electric Toilet Pump is designed for straightforward operation using a rotary switch. This switch controls both the flushing and waste evacuation processes.
- Flushing: To operate, turn the rotary switch. This action simultaneously activates the self-priming pump to rinse the toilet bowl with water and the macerating pump to grind and evacuate waste.
- Completion: Once the flushing cycle is complete and the bowl is clean, return the rotary switch to its off position.
The design allows for comfortable use by both left and right-handed individuals.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Seaflo Electric Toilet Pump.
- Regular Cleaning: Use marine-safe toilet cleaners. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage rubber seals or plastic components.
- Inspect Connections: Periodically check all plumbing and electrical connections for tightness and signs of wear or corrosion.
- Winterization (for seasonal use): Before storing your RV or boat for winter, ensure the pump and all associated plumbing are thoroughly drained and flushed with non-toxic antifreeze to prevent freezing damage.
- Avoid Foreign Objects: Do not flush anything other than human waste and marine-safe toilet paper to prevent clogging and damage to the macerator.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not run | No power; Blown fuse; Loose wiring; Overheated motor. | Check power supply; Replace fuse; Secure connections; Allow motor to cool. |
| Weak flush or no water intake | Clogged inlet; Air leak in suction line; Low water pressure; Worn impeller. | Clear inlet; Check and tighten suction line connections; Verify water supply; Inspect/replace impeller. |
| Pump runs but does not discharge waste | Clogged discharge line; Macerator jammed; Blocked vent line. | Clear discharge line; Inspect macerator for foreign objects; Clear vent line. |
| Leaks from pump or connections | Loose connections; Damaged seals/gaskets; Cracked housing. | Tighten connections; Replace seals/gaskets; Inspect pump housing for damage. |
9. User Tips
- Confirm Package Contents: As a common inquiry, please verify upon receipt that your package contains the pump assembly and any specified mounting hardware. The toilet bowl and seat are separate items.
- Pre-fill for First Use: If the pump is completely dry, it may help to pour a small amount of water into the bowl before the first flush to assist with priming.
- Regular Flushing: For optimal performance and to prevent odors, flush the toilet regularly, even if not in constant use.
