3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Manual Zoom and Focus Adjustment

The 2.8-12mm varifocal lens allows for manual adjustment of zoom, focus, aperture, and clarity. This enables you to capture subjects at varying distances with optimal sharpness.

  1. Adjust Focus: Rotate the focus ring on the lens until the image appears sharp.
  2. Adjust Aperture: Rotate the aperture ring to control the amount of light entering the lens. A wider aperture (smaller f-number) allows more light and creates a shallower depth of field.
  3. Adjust Clarity: Fine-tune the clarity for desired image crispness.
  4. Fix Position: Secure the lens position once desired settings are achieved.

  • Clean the camera body with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Ensure the camera is disconnected from power before cleaning.

4.2 Storage

  • Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Protect the lens from dust and scratches when not in use, ideally with a lens cap.

7. User Tips

  • Experiment with Software: If you encounter issues with one application, try another compatible software (e.g., VLC, Amcap, CameraFi) to ensure the camera itself is functioning correctly.
  • Optimal Lens Adjustment: Take time to fine-tune the manual zoom, focus, and aperture settings for your specific environment and desired image. Small adjustments can make a big difference in clarity and field of view.
  • Use a Tripod: For stationary applications or when precise positioning is required, utilizing a tripod (not included) will provide stability and prevent unwanted movement.
  • Check OS Compatibility: Always ensure your operating system meets the minimum requirements for UVC support, especially for older Linux kernels or Android versions.
  • OTG for Mobile Devices: When connecting to Android smartphones or tablets, ensure your device supports OTG (On-The-Go) functionality and use a reliable OTG cable.
