Operating Instructions

Understand the various functions of your SAMOLLA KX800 Fishing Reel.

  1. Normal Working State (Line Collection and Discharge):
When casting the bait, the screen will display the outgoing line distance. When the wire collection is completed, if there is still remaining length on the screen, double-click the LEFT button to clear the number of meters out of the line.
  2. Bite Alarm Function:
Short press the RIGHT (SET) button to set the hook alarm. 'C' will be displayed on the screen, indicating the hook alarm is turned on. When a fish bites the hook, the buzzer will sound automatically and the indicator light will flash continuously. The alarm lasts for 6 seconds, then the screen returns to normal.
  3. Depth Positioning Memory Function:
Under normal working conditions, quickly double-click the RIGHT (SET) button to save the current outgoing line meter. 'L' will be displayed on the screen. The outgoing line meter must be greater than 3 meters for the depth alarm to be set successfully (otherwise, the buzzer will beep twice). After each alarm, the outgoing line meter must be less than one meter of the set meter for the alarm to re-engage. For example, if the set meter is 5 meters, the alarm will sound when 5 meters is reached. To re-trigger, the line must be reeled in to less than 4 meters.
  4. Backlight Operation:
In the powered-on state, short press the LEFT button to turn the backlight ON or OFF. When the backlight is on, if there is no operation within 10 seconds, the backlight will automatically turn off to save power.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your fishing reel.

  • Battery Reminder: During use, if the display shows a low battery icon (e.g., '1' or flashing battery symbol), it means the reel needs to be charged immediately.
  • Charging: Plug in the USB charging cable to a power source. If the charging indicator light is on, charging is in progress. If the indicator light goes off, charging is complete. (Note: Do not rely solely on the power display icon on the reel's screen to determine full charge during charging.)
  • Cleaning: After use, especially in saltwater, rinse the reel with fresh water and wipe it dry. Avoid submerging the reel.
  • Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of reel oil to moving parts and grease to gears as recommended for fishing reels.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Screen figures appear blurred or reel is unresponsive.
Solution: This indicates a low voltage condition. Please charge the reel immediately using the USB port or by exposing the solar panel to sunlight.
Problem: Depth positioning alarm does not activate.
Solution: Ensure the outgoing line meter is greater than 3 meters when setting the depth alarm. If it's less than 3 meters, the setting will be unsuccessful (indicated by two beeps).
