5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Remote Control Overview

5.2. Basic Flight Controls
- Power On: Turn on the drone, then the remote control. The indicator lights will flash.
- Pairing: Push the left joystick (throttle) up and then down. The lights will become solid, indicating successful pairing.
- One-Key Takeoff/Landing: Press the dedicated one-key takeoff button (usually indicated by an arrow pointing up) to automatically launch the drone to a stable hovering height. Press it again for one-key landing.
- Throttle (Left Joystick): Push up to ascend, pull down to descend.
- Directional Control (Right Joystick): Push up for forward flight, pull down for backward flight. Push left to fly left, push right to fly right.
- Turning (Left Joystick Left/Right): Push the left joystick left or right to rotate the drone counter-clockwise or clockwise, respectively.
- Speed Adjustment: Use the speed adjustment button (often labeled 'High and low gear') to switch between different flight speeds (low, mid-range, high).

5.3. Special Features
- Headless Mode: In headless mode, the drone's orientation is irrelevant; it will fly according to the direction of the remote control joystick. This simplifies control, especially for beginners.

- Altitude Hold (Air Pressure Fixed Height): The drone maintains a stable altitude when the throttle stick is released, allowing for easier control and stable aerial photography.

- 3D Flip/Roll: Press the 3D flip button on the remote control to perform a 360-degree flip for exciting aerial stunts.
- FPV & Real-time Transmission: For camera-equipped versions, the drone transmits live video to your smartphone via Wi-Fi, allowing you to see what the drone sees in real-time.

- Gesture Photo/Video: Use specific hand gestures to trigger photo or video recording from the drone's camera.

- Gravity Control (via App): Control the drone's flight by tilting your smartphone, offering an immersive flight experience.

- Creative Video MV (via App): The app allows you to edit music videos and add effects to your recorded footage.

- LED Night Lights: The drone is equipped with LED lights, making it easier to identify its direction during night flights and adding a visual appeal.

6. Maintenance
- Battery Care: Always fully charge the drone battery before each flight. Do not overcharge. Store batteries in a cool, dry place.
- Propeller Inspection: Regularly check propellers for any damage (cracks, bends). Replace damaged propellers immediately using the spare ones provided and the screwdriver.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the drone body and camera lens. Avoid using harsh chemicals or liquids.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries from both the drone and the remote control. Store the drone in its original packaging or a protective case.
7. Troubleshooting
- Drone flies erratically or only reaches a low height:
- Ensure the drone battery is fully charged.
- Check all propellers for damage and ensure they are installed correctly.
- Perform a drone calibration (refer to the full user manual for specific steps, usually involving joystick movements).
- Ensure you are flying in an open area free from strong winds or interference.
- No camera or phone holder included:
- Please note that the KY101 drone is available in different versions. The 'No camera' version does not include a camera or phone holder. Ensure you purchased the '4K dual camera' version if these accessories are expected.
- Cannot connect to the drone app:
- Ensure the drone's Wi-Fi is enabled and your phone is connected to the drone's specific Wi-Fi network.
- Verify that you have downloaded the correct app for the KY101 drone (check the app manual or search for 'KY101 FPV' in your app store).
- Restart both the drone and your smartphone, then try connecting again.
- Remote control not responding:
- Check if the remote control batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient charge.
- Ensure the drone and remote control are properly paired.
8. User Tips
- For Novice Operators: Utilize the one-button takeoff/landing and headless mode features to make initial flights easier and more convenient.
- Emergency Stop: Familiarize yourself with the single button emergency stop function for quick control in unexpected situations.
- Night Flying: The drone's LED lights are designed to help you identify its direction in the dark, making night flights more manageable and visually appealing.
- Immersive Control: For a more in-depth flight experience, try controlling the drone via the mobile app's gravity sensor by swinging your phone.
- Stable Footage: The air pressure fixed height mode is excellent for capturing stable photos and videos, as it helps the drone maintain a consistent altitude.
