5. Setup & Installation

The protector is designed for 35mm DIN rail mounting. Ensure the installation location is dry, well-ventilated, and free from corrosive gases or excessive dust.

5.1. Mounting

Attach the protector to a standard 35mm DIN rail. The device features securing clips for easy and stable installation. Ensure it is firmly seated on the rail.

5.2. Wiring Installation Diagram

Follow the wiring diagram carefully. The device uses a 1P+N configuration (single phase with neutral).

  1. Connect the incoming Neutral (N) wire to the 'IN N' terminal.
  2. Connect the incoming Live (L) wire to the 'IN L' terminal.
  3. Connect the outgoing Neutral (N) wire to the 'OUT N' terminal.
  4. Connect the outgoing Live (L) wire to the 'OUT L' terminal.

Ensure all connections are tight and secure to prevent loose contacts and potential hazards.

6. Operation

6.1. Power On/Off

After successful installation and wiring, apply power to the device. The digital displays will light up, showing current voltage and current readings. To manually turn the power output ON or OFF, press and hold the R/T (Power) button for approximately 3 seconds.

6.2. Setting Protection Parameters

The device allows you to adjust various protection parameters. Refer to the operation diagram (Figure 5) and the video demonstration for a visual guide.

  1. Enter Setting Mode: Press and hold the 'SET' button for more than 3 seconds to enter the setting state. The display will show 'P-1'.
  2. Navigate Parameters: Use the 'Up' and 'Down' arrow buttons to cycle through the setting parameters (P-1 to P-6).
  3. Adjust Values: Once you've selected a parameter (e.g., P-1), press 'SET' again. The value will start flashing. Use the 'Up' and 'Down' arrow buttons to adjust the desired value.
  4. Confirm Value: Press 'SET' again to confirm the adjusted value. The display will return to the parameter selection mode.
  5. Exit Setting Mode: To exit the setting mode and save all changes, press the R/T (Power) button.

Parameter Descriptions:

  • P-1 (Over-Voltage Protection Value): Adjustable from 240V to 300V (Default: 270V).
  • P-2 (Under-Voltage Protection Value): Adjustable from 140V to 200V (Default: 170V).
  • P-3 (Over-Current Protection Value): Adjustable from 1A to 40A (for EAPDX-40) or 1A to 63A (for EAPDX-63). (Default: 40A/63A).
  • P-4 (Startup Delay Time): Adjustable from 1s to 300s (Default: 5s). This is the delay before the device connects power after being turned on or after a protection event.
  • P-5 (Over/Under Voltage Protection Relay Reset Time): Adjustable from 1s to 300s (Default: 30s). This is the delay before the device automatically recovers after an over/under voltage event.
  • P-6 (Over Current Protection Relay Reset Time): Adjustable from 1s to 300s (Default: 30s). This is the delay before the device automatically recovers after an over-current event.

6.3. Restore Factory Settings

To restore the device to its default factory settings:

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Press and hold both the 'SET' button and the 'Down' arrow button simultaneously for several seconds until the display indicates a reset.

7. Maintenance

  • Regularly check the wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear.
  • Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the operating environment adheres to the specified temperature and humidity ranges.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Device does not power on. No input power; incorrect wiring. Check power supply and wiring connections.
Power output is OFF, but input power is present. Device is in protection state (OVP, UVP, OCP); manually turned off. Check display for protection indicators. Wait for auto-recovery or manually reset by pressing R/T button. Verify load is within limits.
Display shows incorrect voltage/current. Calibration error; faulty sensor. Perform calibration if available (refer to advanced settings in full PDF manual) or contact support.
Device trips frequently. Protection settings are too sensitive; unstable power supply; overloaded circuit. Adjust protection thresholds (P-1, P-2, P-3) to appropriate levels. Check power quality and reduce load if necessary.

9. User Tips

  • Understanding the Power Button: The R/T button acts as a master switch for the power output. Pressing and holding it will toggle the power to your connected devices, effectively switching off all electricity through the protector, not bypassing it.
  • Choosing a Protection Box: When selecting an enclosure, ensure it is designed for DIN rail devices and has sufficient internal space for the protector's dimensions (81mm H x 36mm W x 50mm D) and wiring.
  • Initial Setup: It's recommended to test the device with a non-critical load after initial setup and before connecting sensitive equipment.
