3. Setup Guide

3.1 Initial Power On and Charging

  1. Before first use, ensure the i80II tablet is fully charged. Connect the provided power adapter to the tablet's charging port and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. The battery indicator will show charging status.

  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initial Android 9.0 operating system setup.

3.2 Language Configuration

The device supports multiple languages. English is pre-installed. To switch to another supported language (e.g., Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Dutch, Portuguese, Korean, Swedish, Italian, Hungarian, Slovak, Greek), you will need to provide the device's serial number to Foxwell support to unlock the desired language pack. Please note that Polish language is not supported.

3.3 Connecting the VCI Module

The i80II utilizes a Wireless VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) module for diagnostic communication with the vehicle. This Bluetooth VCI adapter allows for flexible operation without cable limitations.

  1. Locate the vehicle's OBD-II port (usually under the dashboard).
  2. Plug the VCI module into the vehicle's OBD-II port. Ensure it is securely connected.
  3. The VCI module will power on automatically.
  4. On the i80II tablet, ensure Bluetooth is enabled. The tablet will automatically detect and connect to the VCI module.

The i80II offers comprehensive diagnostic capabilities for over 90 US/EU/Asia vehicle makes, covering all electronic systems.

  1. Automatic VIN Reading: Upon connection to the vehicle, the device can automatically read the VIN for intelligent diagnosis, saving time and increasing productivity.
  2. Auto Scan: The Auto Scan function quickly scans all vehicle systems in seconds to identify faults and provide an overview of the vehicle's status.
  3. Full System Diagnostic: Access and diagnose all vehicle systems, including Engine, Transmission, ABS, SRS, Air Conditioning, Instrument Cluster, Gateway, and more. Read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), and reset the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL).
  4. Live Data Stream: View live sensor data in text, graph, and gauge formats. The device supports self-learning live data and can trigger alarms for out-of-range values. You can view multiple PID graphs simultaneously and merge them for comprehensive analysis.

  • Maintenance Functions: Oil Reset, EPB (Electronic Parking Brake), DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) Regeneration, SAS (Steering Angle Sensor) Calibration, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) Service, ABS Bleeding, Injector Coding, Gear Learn, AT Transmission, TPS, and more.
  • Bi-directional Controls: Actuate components, run system tests, and program control modules. This allows temporary activation or control of a vehicle system or component (e.g., door lock, sliding sunroof, ABS motor).
  • Key Programming: Supports key coding for several vehicle models.
  • ECU Coding: Allows for coding and programming of replacement control modules or changing previously stored incorrect coding.

  • Professional Reports: Generate professional Pre-scan and Post-scan reports for comprehensive vehicle health assessment.
  • Shop Management: The history diagnosis feature stores records of tested vehicles, including VIN and DTCs from previous tests. It also allows direct access to previously tested vehicles and helps organize customer information for efficient workshop management.
