3. Product Overview and Features
The S2 Filament Dryer Box is engineered with advanced features to ensure optimal filament drying:
- Internal Fan: A fan located at the bottom blows upwards, creating a thermal cycle for uniform temperature distribution and efficient moisture expulsion.
- 360° Surround Heating: Utilizes upper and lower double heating plates for rapid and even heating from top to bottom, drying filaments efficiently.
- Wide Temperature Range: Adjustable temperature from 35℃ to 70℃, suitable for drying various filament types including PA and PC.
- LED Touch Screen: An extra-large 4.6-inch (3.42*2.87 inch) LCD touch screen displays real-time temperature, humidity, selected filament type, and countdown time. It supports switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
- Dual Temperature Probes: Ensures accurate temperature detection for precise control.
- LED Marquee Light: Indicates the real-time working status. The speed of accumulation reflects the temperature difference between measured and set values.
- Intelligent Control: Features intelligent presets for multiple filament types and drying modes, reducing the need for manual settings after initial configuration.
- Filament Hole: Designed to allow printing while drying, with a hole for filament to pass through and for moisture to be discharged.

4. Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Placement: Place the S2 Filament Dryer Box on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive humidity.
- Power Connection: Connect the provided power adapter to the dryer box and then plug it into a suitable power outlet (AC 100V~240V, 50/60Hz).
- Load Filament: Open the lid of the dryer box. Place your filament spool inside. The maximum coil size supported is φ210mm x 85mm (H). Close the lid securely.
- Filament Path (Optional, for printing while drying): If you intend to print while drying, feed the filament through the designated filament hole on the side of the dryer box to your 3D printer.

5. Operating Instructions
- Power On: Once connected to power, the LED touch screen will light up.
- Set Temperature: Use the touch screen controls to set the desired drying temperature. The range is 35℃ to 70℃. Refer to the "Reference Settings" table below for recommended temperatures based on filament type.
- Set Drying Time: Use the touch screen controls to set the drying duration. Recommended times are typically 3-6 hours, but can be extended if needed.
- Select Filament Type: The S2 features intelligent presets. Select your filament type (e.g., PLA, ABS, PA) from the options on the screen. This helps the dryer optimize its settings.
- Start Drying: Press the "RUN" button on the touch screen to begin the drying process. The LED marquee light will indicate operation.
- Monitor Progress: The screen will display real-time humidity (RH%), current temperature (PV), set temperature (SV), and remaining countdown time.
- Temperature Unit Conversion: You can switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) on the touch screen.
Reference Settings for Filament Drying
The following table provides recommended drying temperatures and times for common filament types. These are general guidelines and may vary based on filament brand and environmental conditions.
| Filament | Drying Temp (℃) | Drying Time (H) |
|---|---|---|
| PLA/PLA+/SILK/Wood/PETG | 45-50 | 3-6 Hours |
| ABS/ABS+/TPU/PVB/HIPS/PVA/ASA/PMMA | 50-55 | |
| PA/PC | 60-70 |
Suggestions:
- Before printing, it is recommended to bake first and then print; after baking, it is better to print while baking.
- When the ambient temperature is too low and the drying oven does not heat up to the set value, it is recommended to extend the baking time for more than 1 hour.
- This table serves as a reference for drying time and temperature of commonly used consumables.

Understanding the Drying Process
During the initial heating stage (0-15 minutes), humidity is removed from the filament, causing the relative humidity inside the box to rise to approximately 50%. During the subsequent moisture evaporation stage (around 120 minutes), the relative humidity drops to about 25% as moisture is expelled.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Ensure the dryer box is unplugged and cooled before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Storage: When not in use, store the dryer box in a cool, dry place.
- Filament Storage: For best results, store filaments in a sealed container with desiccant after drying and when not in use.
7. Troubleshooting
- Filament still wet after drying:
- Ensure the correct temperature and time settings are used for the filament type.
- If ambient temperature is too low, extend drying time by more than 1 hour.
- If filament has excessive moisture or environment is very humid, open the box briefly to release accumulated moisture, then quickly close to continue drying. This can reduce overall drying time.
- Display not working:
- Check if the power adapter is securely connected and the power outlet is functional.
- Poor print quality (e.g., popping sounds, bubbles):
- This often indicates wet filament. Increase drying time or temperature as per the reference table.
- Consider drying the filament immediately before or during printing.
