1. Product Overview

The ZIFON YT-800 is an intelligent rotating pan-tilt head designed for cameras and mobile phones, offering 360° horizontal rotation and 50° vertical rotation. It features remote control operation, adjustable speed settings, and AB point programming for automated movements, making it ideal for panoramic shooting, live streaming, vlogging, and other photographic applications.

2. Package Contents

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Pan Tilt Head

  • The pan-tilt head is powered by an internal 18650 Lithium 3.7V battery.
  • Connect the pan-tilt head to a 5V2A charging head using the provided USB-C cable. PC USB ports are not recommended for charging.
  • The charging indicator will be red while charging and turn green when fully charged.
  • It is recommended to run the pan-tilt head after charging to prevent battery exhaustion.

3.2 Installing Remote Control Batteries

  • The remote control requires 2*AAA alkaline batteries.
  • Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote and insert the batteries, observing polarity.

3.3 Mounting Camera or Phone

  • **For Cameras**: Secure your camera onto the pan-tilt head's mounting plate. Ensure the camera is centered to avoid tilt shake.
  • **For Phones**: Attach the phone clip to the pan-tilt head's mounting plate, then secure your mobile phone within the clip. Ensure the phone is centered for stability.

3.4 Attaching to a Tripod

The base of the ZIFON YT-800 features a standard 1/4-inch screw hole, allowing it to be paired with various tripods for stable operation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Locate the OFF/ON switch on the side of the pan-tilt head.
  • Slide the switch to 'ON' to power on the device. The LED indicators will light up.

4.2 Understanding LED Indicators

The pan-tilt head and remote control both have 4 LED indicators:

  • First LED: Represents channel (1-7 grade, 8 is F, 9 is 16 channels).
  • Second LED: Represents pan speed (1-7 grade).
  • Third LED: Represents tilt speed (1-7 grade).
  • Fourth LED: Represents battery indicator (1-5 grade, 5 is 100%).

4.3 Remote Control Functions

The remote control operates on a 2.4G frequency and has a range of over 30m. Ensure the pan-tilt head and remote are on the same channel for control.

  • Directional Arrows (Up/Down/Left/Right): Control continuous pan and tilt movement.
  • M Key (Menu/Mode):
    • Long press M: The channel LED flickers. Use +/- keys to change the channel number.
    • Short press M (first time): The pan speed LED flickers. Use +/- keys to adjust pan speed.
    • Short press M (second time): The tilt speed LED flickers. Use +/- keys to adjust tilt speed.
    • Press A/B keys to confirm settings.
  • +/- Keys: Adjust channel, pan speed, or tilt speed when the corresponding LED is flickering.
  • A Key (Set A Position): Long press A key until the second and third LEDs flicker 'AA' simultaneously. Press A again to set the current position as point A.
  • B Key (Set B Position): Long press B key until the second and third LEDs flicker 'BB' simultaneously. Press B again to set the current position as point B.
  • Auto Key (Automatic Scan):
    • Short press Auto: The pan-tilt head will start an automatic scan between set A and B points.
    • Auto + S (Simultaneously): Initiates an infinite round-trip movement between set A and B points.
  • S Key (Stop Scan): Press S key to stop any ongoing automatic scan or movement.

4.4 Switching Between Horizontal and Vertical Screens

The YT-800 allows for easy switching between horizontal and vertical orientations for your camera or phone, enhancing versatility for different shooting needs.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the pan-tilt head and remote control. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Battery Care:
    • Always use the specified 5V2A charging head and USB-C cable for the pan-tilt head.
    • Replace AAA batteries in the remote control when the battery indicator shows low power.
    • Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
    • Avoid fully discharging the pan-tilt head's battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the pan-tilt head and its accessories in a protective case to prevent damage from dust or impact.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the internal 18650 battery is charged. Check the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
  • Remote control not working: Ensure the remote control has fresh AAA batteries and that both the remote and the pan-tilt head are set to the same channel.
  • Battery Low Indication: The fourth LED indicator on both the pan-tilt head and remote shows battery level (1-5 grade, 5=100%). If the display shows '8765' (Channel B, Pan Speed 7, Tilt Speed 5) or '8764' (Channel F, Pan Speed 7, Tilt Speed 4), it also indicates a low battery state. Recharge or replace batteries as needed.
  • Tilt shake during operation: Ensure the camera or phone is securely mounted and perfectly centered on the pan-tilt head to prevent imbalance.
  • Charging issues: Use only a 5V2A charging head; PC USB ports may not provide sufficient power. Ensure the USB-C cable is properly connected.
