1. Introduction
The TENSTAR ROBOT TS0702H is a compact and efficient DC 12V PWM fan speed controller designed for 2-wire and 3-wire fans. It offers both manual and automatic temperature-controlled speed adjustment, helping to optimize cooling performance and reduce noise in various applications, including computer chassis and CPU coolers. This module also features a fan stall alarm and power-off memory function for enhanced reliability and user convenience.
2. Safety Information
Please read and understand the following safety precautions before installation and operation:
- Ensure the power supply is disconnected before making any connections to prevent electric shock or damage to the module and connected devices.
- This module is designed for DC 12V power supplies only. Do not connect it to other voltage sources.
- Observe correct polarity when connecting power and fans. Incorrect wiring can cause damage.
- Do not exceed the maximum fan current of 0.8A.
- Keep the module away from moisture, extreme temperatures, and corrosive environments.
- Handle the module with care to avoid damaging electronic components.

5. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to install and connect your fan controller:
5.1. Wiring Diagram
Refer to the diagram below for proper connection of the power supply, fan, and temperature sensor.

Figure 2: Module Back with Connection Labels

Figure 3: Fully Wired Module
- Power Connection (DC12V): Connect your 12V DC power supply to the designated DC12V input on the module. Ensure correct polarity (+ and -).
- Fan Connection (FAN): Connect your 2-wire or 3-wire 12V fan to the FAN output. This controller is compatible with standard 2-wire and 3-wire fans. Note: 4-wire fans cannot be controlled by this module.
- Temperature Sensor Connection (NTC): Plug the provided temperature sensor probe into the NTC port.
5.2. Temperature Sensor Placement
For optimal automatic temperature control, place the temperature probe in the area where you want to monitor and regulate the temperature. For example, near the CPU heatsink for CPU fan control, or within the chassis for case fan control.
6. Operating Instructions
The controller supports two main operating modes: manual speed control and automatic temperature control.
6.1. Manual Speed Control
In manual mode, the fan speed is adjusted directly using the potentiometer on the module. Rotate the potentiometer to increase or decrease the fan speed to your desired level.
6.2. Automatic Temperature Control
When the temperature probe is connected and properly placed, the module will automatically adjust the fan speed based on the detected temperature. As the temperature rises, the fan speed will increase, and as it falls, the fan speed will decrease, maintaining optimal cooling.
6.3. Fan Stall Alarm Function
The controller is equipped with a fan stall alarm. If the connected fan stops running for any reason (e.g., obstruction, malfunction), the controller will emit an audible buzzer sound and its LED indicator will flash. The alarm will automatically cease once the fan resumes normal operation.
6.4. Power-off Memory Function
The controller retains its last set mode (manual or automatic) and speed setting even after power is removed. Upon restoration of power, the module will automatically resume operation with the previously configured settings.
7. Troubleshooting
- Fan not spinning: Check power connections (DC12V) for correct voltage and polarity. Ensure the fan is properly connected to the FAN port and is a compatible 2-wire or 3-wire 12V fan. Verify the fan itself is functional.
- Alarm sounding/LED flashing: This indicates a fan stall. Check the fan for any obstructions or damage. If the fan is clear and functional, re-check connections.
- Fan speed not changing in automatic mode: Ensure the temperature sensor is securely connected to the NTC port and placed correctly to detect temperature changes.
- No response from module: Disconnect all power, wait a few seconds, and reconnect. If the issue persists, verify the 12V power supply is working correctly.
8. Maintenance
The TS0702H fan controller requires minimal maintenance:
- Keep the module clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Periodically check all connections to ensure they are secure.
- Ensure adequate airflow around the module to prevent overheating, although its power dissipation is low.
9. User Tips
- For optimal noise reduction, experiment with the manual speed setting to find the lowest fan speed that still provides adequate cooling for your system.
- When using automatic mode, ensure the temperature sensor is placed in a location that accurately reflects the temperature of the component you wish to cool, not just ambient air.
- Consider using cable ties to manage the fan and sensor cables for a tidy and obstruction-free setup.
