4. Installation & Setup
Before beginning installation, ensure you have identified the correct kit for your door type. The system is designed for wooden doors, iron doors, and glass doors. If unsure, consult a professional.
4.1 Kit Selection Guidance
- Kit without Lock (Kit2): Includes access control keypad, keyfobs, power supply, door exit button, and doorbell. Requires you to provide your own electric lock.
- Kit3 (Electric Strike Lock): Suitable for wooden and metal doors. No additional bracket needed.
- Kit4 (Electric Drop Bolt Lock): Suitable for wooden, metal, and stainless steel doors. No additional bracket needed.
- Kit5 (180KG Electric Magnetic Lock): Suitable for wooden, metal, and glass frame doors. No additional bracket needed.
- Kit6 (180KG Magnetic Lock + U bracket): Specifically for frameless glass doors. The U bracket is essential for mounting the magnetic lock.
- Kit7 (180KG Magnetic Lock + L bracket): For wooden or metal doors where the door is flat or the gap to the door frame is less than 3cm. The L bracket helps in proper alignment.
- Kit8 (180KG Magnetic Lock + ZL bracket): For doors that open inwards. The ZL bracket provides the necessary mounting configuration.
- Kit9 (Embedded 180KG Electric Magnetic Lock): For a concealed lock installation in wooden, metal, or glass frame doors.
4.2 Component Mounting
- Access Controller: The keypad is IP68 waterproof and can be installed outdoors. Mount it at a convenient height near the door entrance. Ensure the mounting surface is flat and secure.
- Electric Lock: Install the chosen electric lock according to its specific instructions and the door type. Ensure proper alignment with the door frame or door leaf.
- Power Supply: Mount the power supply unit in a secure, dry location, preferably indoors, away from direct moisture.
- Door Exit Button: Install the exit button on the inside of the door, at a comfortable height for easy access.
- Doorbell: Connect the wired doorbell to the access controller's doorbell button terminals.

5. Wiring Diagrams
Carefully follow the wiring diagram below to connect all components. Incorrect wiring can damage the system or prevent it from functioning correctly. Ensure all power is disconnected before making any connections.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Unlocking Methods
- RFID Card: Present a programmed RFID card to the card area on the keypad. The indicator light will confirm successful unlocking.
- Password: Enter your programmed password on the touch screen keypad.
- RFID Card + Password: Present your RFID card, then enter your password.
- Tuya APP: Use the Tuya APP for remote unlocking (see Section 7).

6.2 Adding/Deleting Cards and Passwords
The access controller allows for easy programming without needing a computer.
- Adding Cards: Use the management card function to add new RFID cards. (Management cards are not included and must be set by yourself).
- Deleting Cards: Use the management card function to delete existing RFID cards.
- Adding Passwords: Passwords can be added directly through the keypad or via the Tuya APP.

6.3 Normally Open Mode
For situations requiring frequent entry and exit, you can set the system to 'normally open' mode via the Tuya APP. This will keep the door unlocked until the mode is deactivated.

7. Tuya APP Integration
The Tuya APP provides advanced control and monitoring features for your access control system.
7.1 Tuya APP Setup Instructions
- Download APP: Scan the QR code provided in the product packaging or search for "Tuya" or "TuyaSmart" on your mobile app store to download the application.
- Initiate Pairing: On the access control machine, enter
*123456#041#. Wait for 5 seconds for the indicator light to flash, indicating it's ready for pairing. - Add New Equipment in APP: Open the Tuya APP and select "Add Device" or the "+" icon.
- Select Device Type: Choose "Camera & Lock", then click "Lock (Wi-Fi)".
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
- Confirm Indicator: Confirm that the device indicator is flashing and click "Done" in the app.
- AP Mode (if needed): If direct connection fails, select "AP Mode". Connect your mobile phone's Wi-Fi to the device's hotspot (e.g., "SmartLife-XXXX").
- Completion: The app will show "Connecting" and then "Added successfully". Click "Done".
- Enable Remote Unlock: In the app settings, open the remote unlock setting.
- Add User (Password): Select "User", click "+" to add a user. Fill in a name, click next step, then click "Add" to input a 6-digit code or generate one randomly. Fill in a code name and click "Save".
- Add User (RFID Card): After adding a password user, swipe an RFID card within 60 seconds to add it. Fill in the card name and click "Done".
- Add Temporary Code: Click "Once" under temporary code options, input a code name, and click "Save offline code". This code is valid for 6 hours and can be used only once.
- Add Ordinary User: Click the "+" icon next to "Ordinary member" to add regular users.

7.2 Tuya APP Features
- Remote Unlock: Hold and press the unlock icon in the Tuya APP to open the door from anywhere with an internet connection.
- Temporary Passwords: Generate temporary passwords with limited validity (e.g., 6 hours, one-time use) and share them via WeChat, Email, or SMS.
- Unlock Records: View a log of all unlock events, including method and time, directly within the app.
- User Management: Easily add, modify, or delete user passwords and RFID cards.

8. User Tips
- Power Supply Capacity: If considering connecting multiple electric locks to the same system, ensure the power supply (DC12V/3A) has sufficient capacity. Consult the specifications for each lock's current draw to avoid overloading the power supply.
- Management Cards: While not included, setting up management cards for adding/deleting users directly from the keypad can simplify user management, especially if internet access is temporarily unavailable or for quick changes.
- Wi-Fi Network: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz for optimal compatibility and performance with the Tuya APP.
9. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the access controller keypad with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the touch screen or waterproof seal.
- Connection Check: Periodically inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion or damage.
- Software Updates: Keep your Tuya APP updated to the latest version to benefit from new features, security enhancements, and bug fixes.
- RFID Card Care: Store RFID cards away from strong magnetic fields or extreme temperatures to prevent damage.
10. Troubleshooting
- System Not Powering On:
- Check all power connections from the AC source to the power supply and then to the access controller.
- Ensure the AC110-260V input is correctly connected to the power supply.
- Verify the power supply is outputting DC12V. - Door Not Unlocking:
- Check the wiring between the access controller, electric lock, and power supply according to the wiring diagram.
- Ensure the electric lock is receiving power and the correct signal from the access controller.
- Verify that the RFID card or password used is correctly programmed and active.
- For magnetic locks, ensure the armature plate is properly aligned and the lock is receiving power. - Tuya APP Connection Issues:
- Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network during setup.
- Check that the access controller is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- Restart the access controller and your Wi-Fi router.
- Re-attempt the Tuya APP pairing process as described in Section 7.1. - RFID Card Not Detected:
- Ensure the RFID card is placed directly over the card area on the keypad.
- Verify the card is programmed correctly. If an invalid card is used, the indicator light may be red.
- Check for any interference from metallic objects near the card reader. - Keypad Backlight Not Working:
- Check power connections to the access controller.
- If the keypad is responsive otherwise, contact support.
