- To retract the tape, press the 'Tape measure take back button'. Allow the tape to retract slowly to prevent injury.

2. Using the Laser Rangefinder
Ensure the device is powered on.
a. Single Measurement
- Point the 'Laser emitter' at the target.
- Press the 'Power On/Measure Button' (ON MEAS) once. The laser will activate.
- Press the 'Power On/Measure Button' again to take a measurement. The distance will be displayed on the LCD.
b. Continuous Measurement
- Press the 'Switch between Front-and-Rear Reference and Measurement Modes Button' until the continuous measurement icon appears on the display.
- Press the 'Power On/Measure Button' (ON MEAS). The device will continuously measure and display the distance as you move it.
- Press the 'Power On/Measure Button' again to stop continuous measurement.
c. Area Measurement
- Press the 'Switch between Front-and-Rear Reference and Measurement Modes Button' until the area measurement icon appears.
- Take the first measurement (e.g., length) by pointing the laser and pressing 'ON MEAS'.
- Take the second measurement (e.g., width) by pointing the laser and pressing 'ON MEAS'.
- The device will automatically calculate and display the area.
d. Volume Measurement
- Press the 'Switch between Front-and-Rear Reference and Measurement Modes Button' until the volume measurement icon appears.
- Take three consecutive measurements (length, width, height) by pointing the laser and pressing 'ON MEAS' for each.
- The device will automatically calculate and display the volume.
e. Pythagorean Measurement
- Press the 'Switch between Front-and-Rear Reference and Measurement Modes Button' until the Pythagorean measurement icon appears.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to measure the required sides (e.g., hypotenuse and one leg) by pointing the laser and pressing 'ON MEAS'.
- The device will calculate and display the unknown side.
3. Unit Switching
Short press the 'Measurement Units Switch / View Storage Data Button' (labeled 'Unit') to cycle through measurement units: meters (m), inches (in), and feet (ft).
4. Reference Point Switching
Press the 'Switch between Front-and-Rear Reference and Measurement Modes Button' to change the measurement reference point between the front edge and the rear edge of the device. This is important for accurate measurements depending on where you place the device.
5. Laser Cross-Marking
To activate the laser cross-marking function, press the dedicated 'Cross laser emitter' button (if available, or cycle through modes until cross-marking is active). This will project horizontal and vertical laser lines onto a surface for alignment and marking purposes.

6. Viewing Historical Data
Long press the 'Measurement Units Switch / View Storage Data Button' (Unit) to access the historical data memory. The device can store up to 20 groups of data. Use the measurement mode button to navigate through stored entries.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Keep the laser lens clean for accurate measurements.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always use new 1.5V AAA batteries. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures (-10℃ to 50℃).
- Avoid Impact: While the device is drop-resistant, avoid unnecessary impacts to maintain accuracy and longevity.
Troubleshooting
- Device does not turn on: Check if the batteries are inserted correctly and are not depleted. Replace batteries if necessary.
- Inaccurate laser measurements: Ensure the laser lens is clean and unobstructed. Verify the correct reference point (front/rear) is selected. Ensure the target surface is reflective enough for the laser.
- Tape measure does not retract: Check for any obstructions in the tape measure port. Ensure the 'Tape measure take back button' is fully pressed.
- Display is dim or unreadable: Replace batteries. Ensure the device is within the specified operating temperature range (0-40℃).
- Laser does not activate: Ensure the device is powered on and the 'Power On/Measure Button' is pressed correctly.
