This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your new doorbell system.

3. Setup Guide

3.1. Download the APP

The doorbell operates with the Tuya Smart APP. Ensure your mobile phone's Bluetooth and location permissions are enabled.

  • For Android phones: Download from your app market or search for "TUYA Smart".
  • For iOS phones: Search for "TUYA Smart" in the APP Store.

Note: The doorbell function is supported on APP version 4.3.0 and above. Please update to the latest version for optimal performance.

3.2. APP Registration

  1. Upon first use, click "Register". If you already have an account, click "Login".
  2. Read and agree to the "Privacy Policy".
  3. Enter a valid mobile phone number or email address, then click "Continue". Enter the verification code to log in.
  4. Grant necessary APP permissions (message push, geographical location, peripheral device connection) by setting them to "Allow".

3.3. Adding a Device

  1. Ensure Bluetooth and location permissions are enabled on your mobile phone.
  2. Press the doorbell button to start the device. The work indicator will blink, indicating the device is in network mode.
  3. Open the Tuya Smart APP. On the "Home page", click the "+" icon in the upper right corner. The APP will automatically scan and discover the device. Click "Add".

  1. If the device is not automatically searched, manually enable Bluetooth in the app settings and ensure "Allow device permissions near this application" is set.
  2. After discovering the doorbell, enter your 2.4GHz WiFi network name and password. Keep your router, mobile phone, and doorbell as close as possible during connection.
  3. Once connected, click "Finish". If connection fails, reset the device and try again.

3.4. Doorbell and Chime Matching

  1. Power on the Ding Dong (chime) unit.
  2. Long press the pairing button on the chime for 3 seconds until its indicator blinks.
  3. Press the doorbell button on the main unit. The chime will ring, indicating successful matching.

3.5. Installation

The doorbell supports both adhesive backing and screw installation. Choose the method that best suits your needs.

  • Adhesive Installation: Clean the mounting surface thoroughly. Apply the adhesive backing to the doorbell and firmly press it onto the desired location.
  • Screw Installation: Use the provided screws and anchors to securely mount the doorbell to the wall.

It is recommended to install the doorbell on both sides of the door. Avoid installing it on an iron door, as this may affect the signal.

The effective indoor range is 30-50 meters, and the open distance range is 100-150 meters.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Video Call and Two-Way Audio

When a visitor presses the doorbell, your mobile phone will receive an APP push notification. Click the notification to enter the video call interface.

During a video call, hold down the microphone icon to speak, and release to listen. This enables two-way communication with your visitor.

4.2. Night Vision

The doorbell features built-in high-quality IR LED lamp beads and a light sensor. It automatically switches to night mode from day mode when the ambient light drops below 2 Lux, ensuring clear images even in darkness.

4.3. Capture Screen & Cloud Storage

When a visitor presses the doorbell, the device can capture their picture and save the record to the cloud. You can view past pictures at any time through the mobile APP, providing an additional layer of security. The doorbell supports taking pictures without an SD card and offers free 30-day cloud storage service.

4.4. Family Sharing Control

The main account has exclusive permissions and can share access with other family members with one click. This allows multiple users to monitor and interact with the doorbell.

4.5. Chime Volume and Music Selection

The indoor chime offers 4-level volume adjustment and 19 selectable music options. Adjust the volume and choose your preferred ringtone using the controls on the chime unit.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Battery Management

The doorbell is powered by a built-in 800mAh Lithium battery, offering approximately 3 months of standby time. Charging takes about 1.5 hours. The APP will send a low battery reminder when charging is needed.

Do not use the doorbell while it is charging.

5.2. General Care

  • Do not install the device on a metal wall, as it may interfere with WiFi signals.
  • The device supports TF card video storage. Do not insert or remove the memory card when the device is powered on to avoid data loss.
  • Clean the lens and body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Doorbell goes offline / No live view The device is a low-power doorbell and enters hibernation when not in use. This is normal. The doorbell will wake up when the button is pressed or motion is detected. Ensure your APP notification settings are correct to receive alerts.
Cannot connect to WiFi Incorrect WiFi password, 5GHz WiFi network, or WiFi with special symbols. Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. Verify the password. Reset the device and try pairing again.
No APP notifications APP permissions not granted, or phone settings blocking notifications. Check your mobile phone's APP notification settings and ensure all necessary permissions (message push, location, etc.) are granted to the Tuya Smart APP.
Chime not ringing Chime not paired with doorbell, or low battery. Follow the "Doorbell and Chime Matching" steps (Section 3.4) to re-pair. Ensure the chime is powered (USB powered).
Poor signal range Interference from metal objects (e.g., iron door) or distance from chime/router. Relocate the doorbell or chime to avoid metal obstructions. Ensure the doorbell is within the recommended range of your WiFi router and chime.
