1.2 CPU Installation (Intel Xeon E5-2650 V4)
- Carefully open the CPU socket retention mechanism on the motherboard.
- Align the Intel Xeon E5-2650 V4 CPU with the LGA 2011-3 socket, ensuring the gold triangle on the CPU matches the triangle on the socket.
- Gently place the CPU into the socket without forcing it.
- Close the retention mechanism to secure the CPU.
- Apply thermal paste and install a compatible CPU cooler (not included in this set).
1.3 RAM Installation (16GB DDR4 ECC)
The motherboard has 4 DDR4 memory slots. Follow the priority for optimal performance:
- All RAM modules must be installed in slot #1 and slot #4 (yellow slots) first.
- For 1 RAM module: Install in slot #1 or #4.
- For 2 RAM modules: Install in slot #1 and #4.
- For 3 RAM modules: Install in slot #1, #4, and either #2 or #3.
- For 4 RAM modules: Install in all slots (#1, #2, #3, #4).
- Important: The black RAM slots cannot function alone. Memory must first be inserted into the yellow main slots.

2.2 CPU and RAM Performance
The Intel Xeon E5-2650 V4 CPU operates at a base frequency of 2.2GHz with a dynamic acceleration frequency of up to 2.9GHz. The included 16GB DDR4 ECC RAM is rated at 3200MHz. However, please note that the E5-2650 V4 CPU officially supports a maximum DDR4 memory frequency of 2400MHz. Therefore, while the RAM modules are 3200MHz, they will operate at 2400MHz when paired with this CPU. CPU-Z software may still report the RAM's native 3200MHz capability.
3. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and stable operation of your motherboard set.
3.1 General Care
- Keep your computer case clean and free of dust to prevent overheating.
- Ensure adequate airflow within your system by maintaining proper cable management and fan placement.
- Avoid exposing the motherboard to extreme temperatures or humidity.
3.2 Motherboard Design Variations
Due to different production batches, the motherboard design may have slight variations, such as memory slot colors, SATA port positions, or motherboard version numbers. These variations are part of continuous product improvement and do not affect functionality. No further notice will be provided for such minor design changes.
4. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your QIYIDA X99 Motherboard Set.
4.1 RAM Not Detected or Operating Incorrectly
- Issue: RAM modules are not detected or the system is unstable.
- Solution: Ensure RAM modules are installed according to the priority guidelines (slot #1 and #4 first). Verify that the modules are fully seated in their slots.
- Issue: RAM speed appears lower than expected (e.g., 2400MHz instead of 3200MHz).
- Solution: This is expected behavior. The Intel Xeon E5-2650 V4 CPU supports a maximum DDR4 frequency of 2400MHz. The 3200MHz RAM will automatically downclock to 2400MHz. This is not a fault.
4.2 M.2 SSD Not Detected
- Issue: M.2 SSD is not recognized by the system.
- Solution: Check the M.2 jumper settings on the motherboard. Ensure they are correctly configured for either NVMe or NGFF mode, depending on your SSD type.
4.3 Inaccurate Temperature Readings
- Issue: Software reports unusually high motherboard temperatures (e.g., 110°-120°C).
- Solution: The motherboard does not have a dedicated temperature control chip, and software-reported temperatures are virtual and often inaccurate. For actual temperature measurement, use a physical body thermometer on the heatsinks. Normal operating temperature for the motherboard should not exceed 50°C.
4.4 System Does Not Power On
- Issue: The system fails to power on after assembly.
- Solution: Double-check all power connections, especially the 24-pin ATX and 8-pin CPU power cables. Ensure front panel connectors (Power SW) are correctly attached.

6. User Tips
- RAM Speed: Be aware that while the included RAM is 3200MHz, the Intel Xeon E5-2650 V4 CPU will limit its operating speed to 2400MHz. This is a CPU limitation, not a defect in the RAM or motherboard. CPU-Z may still show the RAM's native 3200MHz capability.
- Temperature Monitoring: Software-based temperature readings for the motherboard can be inaccurate (often showing virtual temperatures like 110°-120°C) as the board lacks a dedicated temperature control chip. For accurate temperature assessment, use a physical thermometer. The motherboard's normal operating temperature should not exceed 50°C.
- RAM Slot Priority: Always install RAM modules into the yellow slots (#1 and #4) first. The black RAM slots cannot function independently.
- M.2 Jumper Settings: Remember to correctly set the jumpers for your M.2 SSD (NVMe or NGFF) to ensure it is detected and functions properly.
- Battery Removal: The small CMOS battery on the motherboard is removed before shipping due to international shipping regulations. You will need to install a new CR2032 battery upon receipt for the CMOS settings to be retained.
