2.2. Charging the Tablet

The X70 supports three charging methods. Only one method should be used at a time.

  1. USB Type-C Charging (5V): Connect the Type-C cable to the tablet's Type-C port and a compatible USB power adapter.
  2. 4PIN Magnetic Charging (5V): Attach the magnetic charging cable to the magnetic charging interface on the tablet.
  3. DC Direct Charging (12V) via M12 Aviation Plug: This method is ideal for motorcycle use. The M12 aviation plug connects directly to the tablet and can be wired to a 12V motorcycle battery. This method bypasses the internal battery for power, preventing issues in high outdoor temperatures.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Cleaning

To clean the tablet, gently wipe the screen and body with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these can damage the device's rugged coatings and seals. Ensure all port covers are securely closed before cleaning to maintain water resistance.

4.2. Water and Dust Resistance (IP67)

The HUGEROCK X70 is rated IP67, meaning it is dust-tight and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. To maintain this rating, always ensure all port covers (for USB-C, magnetic charging, and M12 aviation plug) are firmly sealed when not in use. Avoid intentional submersion or exposure to high-pressure water jets.

4.3. Temperature Management

The tablet is designed to operate in a wide temperature range from -20°C to 50°C. While it can withstand these extremes, prolonged exposure to temperatures outside this range, especially during charging, can affect battery life and device performance. Store the tablet in a moderate environment when not in use.

4.4. Battery Care

The 10000mAh battery provides extended usage. To maximize battery lifespan, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently and try to keep the charge level between 20% and 80%. If storing the tablet for a long period, charge it to about 50% and power it off.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1. Common Issues and Solutions

  • Tablet does not power on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a charger and wait a few minutes before attempting to power on again.
  • Screen is unresponsive: Try restarting the tablet. If the issue persists, perform a factory reset (note: this will erase all data).
  • GPS signal is weak or inaccurate: Ensure the external GPS antenna is properly connected and positioned with a clear view of the sky. Check that location services are enabled in settings.
  • Charging issues: Verify that the charging cable and adapter are working correctly. Try a different charging method (Type-C, magnetic, or DC) to isolate the problem. Ensure the charging port is clean and free of debris.
  • Connectivity problems (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth): Toggle Wi-Fi or Bluetooth off and on. Restart the tablet. Forget and reconnect to the network/device.
