When the battery is low, you will receive a reminder via the app. To recharge, detach the doorbell from its mounting and connect it to the USB cable.
5.2 Cleaning

6. Troubleshooting
- Doorbell not pairing/blinking: Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is on and you are in the 'Add Device' section of the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app. Press the doorbell button to activate pairing mode. If issues persist, try restarting the doorbell and your phone.
- Cannot connect video/live view: Check your Wi-Fi connection. Ensure the doorbell is within range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. A weak signal can cause video streaming issues.
- No notifications on phone: Verify that app notifications are enabled for Tuya Smart/Smart Life in your phone's settings. Also, check the app's internal settings for notification preferences.
- Chime unit not ringing: Ensure the chime unit is properly powered via USB and has been successfully paired with the doorbell (refer to Section 3.4).
- Motion sensor not triggering: Check the motion detection sensitivity settings within the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app. Adjust the sensitivity as needed.
- Battery drains quickly: Frequent motion detection alerts, live view access, and cold temperatures can reduce battery life. Ensure the doorbell is fully charged. If battery life remains unusually short, contact support.
- Multiple users accessing camera: The app supports family sharing, allowing multiple authorized users to access the camera feed simultaneously. Ensure all users are added to the 'Family Sharing' feature within the app.
- Doorbell button sound: The sound emitted by the doorbell button itself cannot be independently muted. The chime unit's volume can be adjusted.

8. User Tips
- Outdoor Use & Water Resistance: While the doorbell is designed for outdoor installation, it is generally recommended for sheltered areas to protect it from direct exposure to heavy rain or extreme weather conditions. The product specifications do not explicitly state an IP rating for full waterproofing.
- Optimal Wi-Fi Range: For best performance, ensure the doorbell is installed within a reasonable range of your Wi-Fi router. The effective indoor range is 30-50 meters, and open distance is 100-150 meters. Obstructions like thick walls or metal doors can significantly reduce this range.
- Battery Life Expectations: Battery life can vary based on usage frequency (e.g., number of rings, live view access, motion detections) and environmental factors like temperature. While rated for approximately 3 months standby, heavy use will require more frequent charging.
- Multi-Device Access: The Tuya Smart/Smart Life app allows for family sharing, enabling multiple smartphones to receive notifications and access the doorbell's features simultaneously.
- Voice Assistant Integration: The doorbell is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant. Ensure your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account is linked to your voice assistant platform for hands-free control and announcements.
