Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the side of the flash unit (refer to Figure 3).
- Insert three (3) AA batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-) inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Batteries are not included in the package. Ensure you use fresh, high-quality AA batteries for optimal performance.

Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
- Press and hold the POWER button (refer to Figure 3) to turn the flash unit on or off.
- The LCD screen will illuminate upon power-on.
Flash Modes
Press the MODE button to cycle through the available flash modes:
- M (Manual) Mode: Allows you to manually set the flash output level. There are 8 levels of output (from 1/128 to 1/1), each with 4 fine-tuning stalls. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the power.
- Multi Mode: Emits a series of rapid flashes, useful for capturing multiple movements in a single frame.
- LED Mode: Activates the integrated LED fill light. There are 8 levels of brightness for the LED light. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust brightness.
- Static Mode: (Details not explicitly provided, typically a continuous light mode or a specific flash setting).
The flash also supports TTL (Through-The-Lens) metering and High-Speed Sync (HSS), which allows for flash synchronization at shutter speeds faster than the camera's native sync speed.

Adjusting Flash Head Angle
The flash head can be adjusted to direct light as needed:
- Vertical Rotation: Tilt the flash head up or down between -7 and 90 degrees.
- Horizontal Rotation: Swivel the flash head left or right between 0 and 270 degrees.
These adjustments are crucial for bounce flash photography, where light is directed off a ceiling or wall for softer, more natural illumination.
Automatic Setting Saving
The flash unit features an automatic setting saving function. It will automatically save your last used settings, making it quicker to resume shooting with your preferred configurations after powering off and on.

Troubleshooting
- Flash not firing:
- Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge.
- Check that the flash is securely mounted and locked onto the camera's hot shoe.
- Verify camera settings are configured to trigger an external flash.
- If using specific Canon models (1500D, 3000D, 4000D, 200D, 250D), note that this flash is not compatible with them.
- Inconsistent flash output:
- Check battery levels; low batteries can lead to inconsistent performance.
- Ensure the flash head is clean and free from obstructions.
- If using M mode, verify the power setting is appropriate for your scene.
- Flash overheating:
- The flash has built-in overheating protection. If it becomes too hot, it may temporarily stop firing to cool down. Allow it to rest before resuming use.
- Avoid rapid, consecutive full-power flashes for extended periods.
User Tips
- Camera Compatibility: While designed for universal hot shoe DSLRs, always double-check your specific camera model's compatibility, especially for newer mirrorless systems or specific entry-level DSLRs. The product is noted to be incompatible with Canon 1500D, 3000D, 4000D, 200D, and 250D.
- Battery Choice: For best performance and recycle times, consider using rechargeable Ni-MH AA batteries with a high capacity.
- Bounce Flash: Utilize the rotatable flash head to bounce light off ceilings or walls. This creates a softer, more diffused light than direct flash, reducing harsh shadows and producing more flattering results.
- LED Fill Light: The integrated LED light is excellent for continuous lighting in video recording or as a constant modeling light for still photography in low-light conditions.
- High-Speed Sync (HSS): Experiment with HSS to use wider apertures in bright conditions or to freeze fast motion with flash, even at high shutter speeds.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the flash unit. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the flash in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods.
- Battery Care: Always dispose of used batteries responsibly.
