2. Safety Information
- Read all instructions carefully before use.
- Do not immerse the device in water. It is IP55 rated for water resistance, not submersion.
- Ensure batteries are inserted correctly according to polarity markings.
- Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Operate within the specified water pressure range (2.9 psi to 116 psi).

4. Product Overview

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Unscrew the battery cover located at the bottom of the device.
- Insert 2 x 1.5V AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Replace the battery cover and tighten it securely to maintain the waterproof seal. The rubber ring inside helps keep batteries dry.

5.2 Physical Installation
- Screw the watering valve onto your outdoor tap/faucet. Ensure a tight fit to prevent leaks.
- Connect your garden hose to the water outlet of the valve using the provided hose attachment connector.
5.3 App Download and Pairing
- Download the 'Tuya Smart' or 'Smart Life' app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
- Register or log in to your account.
- Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled.
- In the app, tap '+' to add a device. The app should automatically discover the watering valve via Bluetooth. If not, select 'Add Manually' and search for 'Watering Timer' or similar.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process.
5.4 Bluetooth Gateway (Hub) Setup (Optional)
For remote control from anywhere and access to advanced features like watering history and voice control, a Bluetooth gateway (hub) is required and must be purchased separately.
- Plug in your Bluetooth gateway and ensure it's connected to your home Wi-Fi network as per its own instructions.
- In the Tuya Smart Life app, add the Bluetooth gateway.
- Once the gateway is added, link your watering valve to the gateway through the app. This will enable remote control and data logging.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Manual Watering
- Via App: Open the Tuya Smart Life app, select your watering valve, and choose the manual watering option. You can set the duration for manual watering.
- Via Device Button: Press the button on the watering valve to initiate manual watering. Press again to stop.

6.2 Scheduling Automatic Watering
The app allows you to set up various watering schedules:
- Open the Tuya Smart Life app and select your watering valve.
- Navigate to the scheduling section.
- Choose between 'Normal Schedule' or 'Cycle/Soak' watering types.
- Set your desired watering times, durations (in minutes or hours), and specific days of the week.
- Save your schedule. The device will retain these settings even if the signal is lost.

6.3 Rain Delay Function
To save water during rainy periods:
- In the Tuya Smart Life app, select your watering valve.
- Find the 'Rain Delay' or 'Weather Delay' feature.
- Choose to postpone watering for 24 hours, 48 hours, or 72 hours.
- Confirm the delay. The system will automatically resume its schedule after the delay period.
Note: This feature must be manually operated in the App to start the delay.

6.4 Viewing Irrigation History
If connected to a Bluetooth gateway, you can view your irrigation history:
- Open the Tuya Smart Life app.
- Select your watering valve.
- Navigate to the 'Statistics' or 'History' section to view past watering events, durations, and potentially water usage data. This helps in water and energy saving.

7. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears in the app or on the device. Typically, 2 AA batteries can last up to 6 months.
- Cleaning: Periodically check the water inlet filter for debris and clean it if necessary to ensure optimal water flow. Wipe the exterior of the device with a damp cloth; do not use harsh chemicals.
- Winterization: In freezing temperatures, remove the watering valve from the faucet and store it indoors to prevent damage from freezing water.
