1. Introduction

The Tuya Smart Gateway WiFi BLE Wireless Hub is a mini BLE Gateway designed to be the central hub for your BLE-Mesh smart products. It features a highly integrated Wi-Fi module and a low power-consuming BLE module, allowing seamless connection to the Smart Life app. This gateway enables device adding, resetting, third-party control, and BLE group control, fulfilling various smart home requirements. Enjoy the convenience of smart living through different scenarios with this BLE-compatible Bridge, supporting voice control via Alexa and Google Home.

2. Safety Information

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

Attention: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.

4. Product Overview

The Tuya Smart Gateway is a compact device designed for easy integration into your smart home system. It features indicator lights and a reset button for convenient operation.

6. Setup

6.1. App Installation

To begin, download and install the "Smart Life" app on your mobile device. You can find it in the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play (for Android), or by scanning the QR code provided in the physical manual.

6.2. Adding the Gateway

There are two primary methods to connect your gateway to the Smart Life app:

Quick Connect Mode:

1. Ensure your mobile phone's location services and Bluetooth are turned on.
2. Connect your phone to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
3. Plug in the gateway. The two indicator lights (Red for Wi-Fi, Blue for BLE) will light up.
4. Press and hold the switch/reset button on the gateway for 8 seconds. Release the button and wait for 10-20 seconds until the red light flashes.
5. Open the Smart Life app. Click on the "+" icon in the upper right corner.
6. The app should automatically detect the gateway. A product icon for the gateway will pop up.
7. Simply click on the icon to connect and follow the on-screen instructions in the app.

Manual Distribution Network Mode:

1. Ensure your mobile phone's location services are turned on, and Bluetooth is turned off.
2. Connect your phone to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
3. Press and hold the switch/reset button on the gateway for 8 seconds. Release the button and wait for 10-20 seconds until the red light flashes.
4. Open the Smart Life app. Click on the "+" icon in the upper right corner, then select "Gateway" or search for the gateway manually.
5. Find the gateway in the app and click on the multi-function gateway to proceed.
6. An option for hotspot distribution network (compatibility mode) will appear in the upper right corner. Select this option.
7. Confirm that the indicator light on the gateway flashes slowly, then click "Next Step" in the app.
8. The device hotspot will appear. Search for the network name you want to pair according to the hotspot prompt to connect.
9. Select the prompted network name and return to the app to complete the device connection.

7. Operation

Once your Tuya Smart Gateway is set up, you can begin integrating and controlling your smart devices.

7.1. Connecting BLE Devices

The gateway acts as a bridge, allowing BLE-compatible devices to connect to your Wi-Fi network and be controlled via the Smart Life app. This enables a wide range of smart home functionalities.

7.2. Smart Home Automation and Scenarios

Utilize the Smart Life app to create automated scenarios and linkages between your devices. For example, you can set up a rule to automatically turn off your air conditioner when a window sensor detects that a window is opened.

7.3. Voice Control

The gateway supports voice control through popular assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Home, allowing you to manage your connected devices with simple voice commands.

8. Troubleshooting

• Device not found during setup: Ensure your phone's Bluetooth and location services are enabled (for Quick Connect) or disabled (for Manual Mode). Verify your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Make sure the gateway's red indicator light is flashing as described in the setup instructions.
• Connection issues: Check your Wi-Fi signal strength. Ensure the gateway is within range of your Wi-Fi router. Restart the gateway and your router if problems persist.
• BLE devices not connecting to gateway: Ensure the BLE devices are compatible with the Tuya Smart Life ecosystem and are in their respective pairing modes.
• Voice control not working: Verify that your gateway and connected devices are properly linked to your Alexa or Google Home account within the Smart Life app. Check your internet connection.

9. User Tips

• Understanding Connectivity: The Tuya Smart Gateway itself connects to your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. It then acts as a bridge for other Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices, allowing them to communicate with your smart home system and the internet via the gateway's Wi-Fi connection. This means you can control your BLE devices remotely even when you're away from home.
• Optimal Placement: For the best performance, place the gateway in a central location within your home, ensuring it's within good range of both your Wi-Fi router and the BLE devices you intend to connect.
• Regular App Updates: Keep your Smart Life app updated to the latest version to ensure compatibility and access to new features and improvements.

10. Maintenance and Care

• Keep the device dry and clean.
• Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity.
• Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Contact customer support if issues arise.
• Use only the specified power adapter (DC 5V1A) to prevent damage.
