4.1. Pre-Installation Check: Choosing the Right Booster

Before installing, ensure you have at least 1-2 bars of outdoor signal at the location where you plan to install the outdoor antenna. You can check your current signal strength using your phone:

  • For iOS: Dial *3001#12345#* and press call. Navigate to 'Serving Cell Info' and check 'Freq Band Indicator'.
  • For Android: Download an app like 'LTE Discovery'. Press 'SIGNALS' and check 'Band Number'.

*Note: Turn off Wi-Fi to display the network type at the top of the screen. If it shows "0" or "Unkown", test more times outside at the strongest signal position.*

4.2. Installation Steps

Three-step installation guide: 1. Search for good signal, install outdoor antenna. 2. Connect outdoor antenna to booster (BTS port) and indoor antenna to booster (MS port). 3. Power on and check signal.
Figure 7: Visual guide for installation steps.
  1. Step 1: Position the Outdoor Antenna. Search for a location where you can receive a good signal (stronger than -70dB). Install the outdoor Yagi antenna at this location, pointing it towards the nearest base station or cell tower. Ensure the outdoor antenna is placed where it can receive a good signal.
  2. Step 2: Connect Antennas to Booster. Use the provided coaxial cable to connect the outdoor antenna to the "BTS" port of the signal booster. Connect the indoor ceiling antenna to the "MS" port of the signal booster. Ensure all connections are tightened securely.
  3. Step 3: Power On and Check Signal. After all connections are made and secured, connect the power adapter to the booster and plug it into an electrical outlet. Turn on the power. Check your mobile phone signal strength to verify the improvement.

*Note: The two antennas need to be separated by a brick wall, and the distance between them should be more than 33ft (10m) to prevent interference.*

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed and powered on, the GOBOOST signal booster operates automatically. The intelligent LED display provides real-time feedback on its status.

5.1. LED Display Interpretation

The booster features five intelligent LCD screens, one for each frequency band. These displays indicate:

  • Frequency Band: Clearly shows which band (e.g., 800MHz (B20), 900MHz (B8), 1800MHz (B3), 2100MHz (B1), 2600MHz (B7)) is being boosted.
  • Signal Strength: Displays the signal strength graphically and numerically, providing detailed and clear information to the user.
  • Output Power: Shows the output power for each band.

5.2. Automatic Gain Control (AGC)

The integrated AGC chip intelligently controls each band, preventing interference with base stations and extending the equipment's lifespan. This feature ensures stable and efficient signal amplification without manual adjustment.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your GOBOOST signal booster, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Keep the booster unit and antennas clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the booster unit has adequate ventilation. The strip design on the back helps dissipate heat, so avoid blocking the space between the booster and walls.
  • Cable Connections: Periodically check all coaxial cable connections to ensure they are tight and free from corrosion. Loose connections can degrade signal quality.
  • Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the booster unit to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity.
  • Power Supply: Use only the original 5V, 3A power adapter provided with the unit.

7. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your signal booster, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No signal improvement
  • Outdoor antenna not receiving strong enough signal.
  • Antennas too close, causing oscillation.
  • Loose or incorrect cable connections.
  • Booster not powered on.
  • Incorrect frequency band for your carrier.
  • Relocate outdoor antenna to a spot with stronger signal (at least -70dB).
  • Increase separation distance between outdoor and indoor antennas (minimum 33ft/10m, preferably with a physical barrier).
  • Check all cable connections for tightness and proper port (BTS for outdoor, MS for indoor).
  • Ensure power adapter is securely connected and booster is on.
  • Verify your carrier's frequency bands and ensure the booster supports them (refer to Section 4.1).
Signal bars fluctuate or drop
  • Interference between antennas.
  • Weak outdoor signal.
  • Damaged cable or connector.
  • Increase isolation between outdoor and indoor antennas.
  • Adjust outdoor antenna direction for better signal reception.
  • Inspect cables and connectors for damage; replace if necessary.
Booster unit is hot
  • Poor ventilation.
  • Prolonged heavy use.
  • Ensure adequate space around the booster for airflow.
  • The booster has built-in cooling; if overheating persists, contact support.
LED display shows no activity
  • No power.
  • Booster malfunction.
  • Check power connection and outlet.
  • Contact customer support if power is confirmed but display remains off.

8. User Tips

Here are some additional tips to maximize your signal booster's effectiveness:

  • Optimal Antenna Placement: Experiment with the exact positioning and direction of the outdoor antenna. Even small adjustments can significantly impact performance.
  • Maximize Separation: The greater the physical separation (and presence of solid barriers like walls) between the outdoor and indoor antennas, the better. This prevents signal feedback (oscillation) which can reduce efficiency.
  • Cable Management: Route cables neatly and securely to prevent damage and maintain signal integrity. Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the coaxial cable.
  • Power Cycle: If you notice a sudden drop in performance, try power cycling the booster (unplug, wait 30 seconds, plug back in).
  • Check Local Regulations: Ensure the use of a signal booster complies with local telecommunication regulations in your area.

9. Warranty and Support

The GOBOOST signal booster comes with a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and malfunctions under normal use.

9.1. Warranty Claims

For warranty claims, please provide video or images demonstrating the exact problem. This helps our support team diagnose the issue efficiently. Do not attempt to repair the device yourself, as this may void the warranty.
