8. Maintenance

8.1 General Care

  • Keep the meter dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
  • Use and store the meter in normal temperature environments. Extreme temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices.
  • Handle the meter gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage circuit boards and cases.
  • Keep the meter away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature wear of parts.
  • Wipe the meter with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents.

8.2 Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries promptly to ensure accurate measurements. Refer to Section 5.1 for battery installation instructions.

9. Troubleshooting

If the meter does not function properly, check the following:

  • No display or faint display: Check battery installation and charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
  • Incorrect readings: Ensure test leads are properly connected and not damaged. Verify the correct measurement mode is selected.
  • Meter does not turn on: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and charged. Press and hold the POWER button for a few seconds.
  • Auto Power Off too frequently: This is a feature to save battery. The meter will turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity. Press any button to reactivate.

If problems persist, contact customer support.

10. User Tips

  • For current measurements, ensure the conductor is placed as centrally as possible within the clamp jaws for optimal accuracy. The clamp opening size is 26mm.
  • When measuring AC voltage, the meter's true RMS capability provides more accurate results for non-sinusoidal waveforms.
  • Utilize the data hold function (HOLD key) to freeze readings in hard-to-reach or poorly lit areas before moving the meter.
  • The built-in flashlight (HOLD key for >2s) is useful for illuminating dark work areas.
  • The NCV function is a quick and safe way to detect live wires without direct contact, enhancing safety during electrical work.
