2.1 Package Contents

The XTOOL AD20 PRO package typically includes:

2.2 App Installation

The XTOOL AD20 PRO requires the exclusive "Advancer AD20" application for operation. Follow these steps to install the app:

Download the App:
- For iOS devices: Download "Advancer AD20" from the Apple App Store.
- For Android devices: Download "Advancer AD20" from Google Play.
- Alternatively, scan the QR code provided on the product packaging or in the PDF user manual to directly download the app.
Register and Log In: Open the "Advancer AD20" app and register a new account. Email verification may be required. Log in to your newly created account.

2.3 Device Connection

To connect the AD20 PRO to your vehicle and smartphone:

Locate OBD2 Port: Find your vehicle's OBD2 diagnostic port. This is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side.
Plug in AD20 PRO: Securely plug the XTOOL AD20 PRO device into the OBD2 port.

3. Operating Instructions

The XTOOL AD20 PRO offers a variety of diagnostic and monitoring functions through its dedicated app.

3.1 All System Diagnosis

The AD20 PRO can access and scan all available electronic control systems in your vehicle to read and clear fault codes. This includes, but is not limited to, the Engine System, ABS System, SRS System, Transmission System, TPMS System, IMMO System, Battery System, Oil Service System, DPF System, and Air Conditioning System.

Note: This function supports reading and clearing fault codes for all systems but does NOT support reset functions for these systems, except for Oil Reset.

3.2 Oil Light Reset

This special function allows you to reset the oil service light and adjust the service mileage and interval after an engine oil change. This helps you maintain your vehicle's service schedule accurately.

3.3 Full OBD2 Functions

Read Codes: Retrieve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the vehicle's computer.
Clear Codes: Erase DTCs after repairs have been made.
View Live Data Stream: Display real-time operational parameters of the vehicle.
Capture Freeze Frame: View a snapshot of vehicle conditions at the time a fault code was set.

3.4 OBD2 Live Data Display

The app displays real-time working conditions of your car in text format. This includes parameters such as Engine RPM, Vehicle Speed, Coolant Temperature, Intake Air Temperature, Intake Air Pressure, Engine Load, Throttle Position, Fuel Trim, and Remaining Fuel. This data helps in understanding the vehicle's current operational status.

3.5 Turn Off the Engine Light (MIL)

After identifying and fixing a problem indicated by a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) trouble code, the AD20 PRO can be used to clear the error code and turn off the MIL light on your dashboard.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues while using your XTOOL AD20 PRO, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

5.1 AD20 Pro Does Not Pair or Work

Ensure the AD20 Pro is securely plugged into the OBDII port of the vehicle.
Ensure that location permission and Bluetooth permission are turned on for the app on your phone.
If possible, grant all pop-up windows on your phone full access to the app.
Ensure the vehicle is started or the key is in the "ON" position.

5.2 All System Scans (In-Depth Check) Failed

Features depend on the vehicle's make, year, and model. Not all features are universally supported across all vehicles.
Ensure your phone uses a 64-bit Android operating system, as Google officially no longer supports 32-bit apps.
Allow the app to access your location: Go to Settings > Privacy > Location, and ensure it is "ON".
"Permit" all pop-up windows on your phone instead of "Decline".
If the issue remains, contact technical support with your device's S/N number and vehicle VIN for assistance.

5.3 Does it read ABS, SRS, Airbag, TPMS codes?

Yes, the XTOOL AD20 PRO allows you to perform thorough checks on all available car electronic systems, including Engine, Powertrain (Transmission), Steering & Brake, Safety & Comfort, Airbag, and many other systems. This scan tool can read and clear fault codes (DTCs) on all systems, helping you identify and address electronic system problems. Remember, it reads and clears fault codes ONLY, it does NOT reset these systems (except for Oil Reset).

6. User Tips

Vehicle Compatibility: While the AD20 PRO supports 99% of OBD2-compliant vehicles after 1996, specific features (like All System Scan depth or Oil Reset compatibility) can vary by vehicle make, year, and model. If you have concerns about compatibility for a particular function, it is recommended to verify with technical support using your vehicle's VIN.
App Updates: The device supports lifetime free software updates. Regularly check for app updates in the App Store or Google Play to ensure you have the latest features and vehicle compatibility.
Not for Key Programming: The XTOOL AD20 PRO is a diagnostic and monitoring tool. It does not support key programming functions.
Not for Pure Electric Vehicles: The AD20 PRO is designed for gasoline, hybrid-electric, and light-duty diesel vehicles. It is NOT compatible with pure electric vehicles.
