5. Setup
5.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection
Carefully unpack the attendance machine and all accessories. Verify that all components are present:
- 1 x Attendance Machine
- 1 x Power Adapter (US/EU plug type, depending on your order)
- 1 x Wall Install Parts Kit (screws and wall anchors)
Inspect the device for any visible damage. Do not proceed with setup if the device appears damaged.
5.2 Power Connection
Connect the provided DC 5V power adapter to the power input port on the side of the device. Plug the adapter into a suitable power outlet (100-240V). The device will power on automatically.
5.3 Wall Mounting (Optional)
If wall mounting, use the provided wall install parts kit. Mark the desired mounting position on the wall, drill holes, insert wall anchors, and secure the device using the screws through the mounting holes on the back of the machine.
5.4 Initial Configuration
Upon first power-on, you may need to set the date, time, and language. Navigate through the menu using the keypad and M/OK button. Refer to the on-screen prompts for guidance.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 User Registration (Admin)
Before employees can clock in, an administrator must register their fingerprints and/or passwords.
- Press the
M/OKbutton to enter the main menu. - Navigate to 'User Management' or 'Enroll User'.
- Select 'Enroll Fingerprint' or 'Enroll Password'.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to place the finger on the scanner multiple times until registration is complete. For password, enter and confirm the desired password.
- Assign a User ID to the new entry.
6.2 Clocking In/Out
Employees can clock in or out using their registered fingerprint or password.
- Fingerprint: Place a registered finger firmly on the fingerprint scanner. The device will provide a voice prompt (e.g., "Clock in successfully") upon successful identification.
- Password: Enter your User ID using the keypad, then press
M/OK. Enter your password, then pressM/OKagain.
6.3 Generating and Exporting Reports
The device can generate attendance reports directly to a USB flash disk without requiring external software.
- Insert a formatted USB flash disk into the USB port on the side of the device.
- Press the
M/OKbutton to enter the main menu. - Navigate to 'Report' or 'Data Management'.
- Select 'Download Report' or 'Export Data'.
- Choose the desired time period for the report (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly).
- Confirm the export. The device will save an Excel (.xls) file to the USB disk.
- Safely remove the USB disk after the export is complete.
