4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is critical for the safe and efficient operation of your inverter. Please follow these guidelines carefully.
4.1 Wiring Diagram
The following diagram illustrates the typical system connections for the Anern hybrid solar inverter. Ensure all connections are secure and correctly polarized.

Figure 5: Typical System Wiring Diagram
Important Wiring Notes:
- Connect solar panels to the PV input (9).
- Connect the utility grid or generator to the AC input (7).
- Connect external battery packs to the Battery input (10). Ensure correct voltage (24V for 3.6KW/4.2KW models, 48V for 6.2KW models) and capacity (minimum 100AH).
- Connect household appliances to the AC output (8).
- Install appropriate switches for each circuit (PV, mains, battery, load).
- For WIFI monitoring, connect the Cube WIFI/GPRS module to the RS-232 communication port / Wifi-port (11) and configure with the PVguarder APP.
4.2 Inverter Use Notice
- The starting power of inductive load electrical appliances shall be at least three times the rated power of the electrical appliances. If the starting power exceeds the inverter power, the inverter may be damaged. Please select a suitable model before purchasing.
- Please connect the circuit correctly according to the instructions, and install switches for each circuit.
- Starting sequence: First turn on the battery switch, then start the inverter, and finally turn on the PV, mains, and load switches.
- Shutdown sequence: Turn off the switches of load, PV, and mains, then turn off the inverter, and finally turn off the battery.
5. Operating Modes
The Anern hybrid solar inverter supports various loading and output modes to meet different application requirements.
5.1 Loading Modes
The inverter can operate in three primary loading modes:
- Priority Solar Energy: Solar energy is the primary power source.
- Solar + Utility at the Same Time: Solar energy is supplemented by utility power when needed.
- Solar Charge Battery ONLY: Solar energy is exclusively used to charge the battery.

Figure 6: Loading and Output Modes
5.2 Output Modes
The inverter offers two output priority modes:
- Solar Priority Output, then Utility: Prioritizes solar power, then switches to utility if solar is insufficient.
- Solar Priority Output, then Battery, finally Electricity Suppliers: Prioritizes solar, then battery, and finally draws from the grid.
5.3 Display Interface
The LCD display provides real-time information about the system's operation, including power flow from PV, utility, battery, and to the load.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Anern solar inverter.
- Cleaning: Keep the inverter's exterior clean and free from dust. The built-in anti-dust kit helps, but periodic cleaning of vents is recommended.
- Connections: Periodically check all wiring connections (PV, battery, AC input/output) for tightness and signs of corrosion.
- Environment: Ensure the inverter is installed in a well-ventilated area, free from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Health: Monitor battery health and charge levels. The smart battery charge design helps optimize battery life, but regular checks are still beneficial.
- Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website or app for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and new features.
7. Troubleshooting (FAQ)
This section addresses common questions and issues users may encounter.
- Q: Can the inverter directly supply power to the load?
- A: YES, it can directly supply power to the load.
- Q: Can the inverter be connected to the grid?
- A: PV gives priority to power supply to the load, and extra power can charge the battery. More can be integrated into the grid (subject to local government policies). Note: 1600W and 3000W models cannot send remaining power back to the grid.
- Q: Can inverters be connected in series or parallel?
- A: NO, these inverters are not designed for series or parallel connection.
- Q: Is this an on-grid-tied inverter? Can it output to utility?
- A: YES. It is a hybrid inverter that can be both off-grid and on-grid connected (except 1600W and 3000W models, which are off-grid only).
- Q: What types of batteries can be used?
- A: Lead-acid batteries, gel batteries, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4), and other lithium batteries can be used. A 24V battery is required for 3.6KW/4.2KW models, and a 48V battery for 6.2KW models. The battery capacity should not be less than 100AH.
- Q: Can it be used with air conditioners, water pumps, and wind turbines?
- A: It can be used with air conditioners, but not with water pumps and wind turbines.
- Q: How to choose the inverter power according to household appliances?
- A: If household appliances include inductive load appliances (e.g., refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners), the inverter's power should be at least three times the total power of these inductive load appliances. Otherwise, the appliances may not start.
- Q: Is it possible to use PV, battery, and grid supply at the same time?
- A: YES. In the default PV priority mode, if PV input is insufficient, the system will draw power from the battery and then from the utility grid.
