1. Introduction

The AERMOTOR EM415PRO Wires Tracker is a professional automotive circuit tester designed to efficiently diagnose electrical issues in vehicles. 5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

Both the Receiver and Transmitter units require two 9V batteries each (not included). To install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of both the Receiver and Transmitter units.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two 9V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

6. Operating Instructions

The AERMOTOR Wires Tracker is designed for ease of use. Follow these steps for various diagnostic tasks:

6.1 General Operation Principle

The Transmitter sends a signal through the circuit or wire under test. The Receiver then detects this signal, allowing you to trace the wire or pinpoint issues. The Receiver's probe tip (black cap) should be positioned perpendicular (at 90°) to the wire being traced for optimal signal reception.

6.2 Locating Short Circuits

  1. Connect the Transmitter in series with the circuit or wire under test. For example, you can connect it in place of a blown fuse, across a connector, or in series with an open wire.
  2. Turn on the Transmitter and select the appropriate tone setting (single solid tone or dual alternating tone).
  3. Turn on the Receiver and adjust its sensitivity.
  4. Scan the circuit/wire with the Receiver's flexible probe.
  5. Listen for a change in the receiver tone. The direction indicator on the Receiver will help guide you to the location of the short circuit.

6.3 Locating Open Circuits and Break Points

  1. Connect the Transmitter to one end of the wire or cable you wish to test.
  2. Turn on the Transmitter and Receiver.
  3. Trace the wire with the Receiver's probe. The tone will stop or significantly weaken at the point of the open circuit or break.
  4. The device allows checking for break points without damaging the insulating layer.

6.4 Wire Identification and Tracing

  1. Connect the Transmitter to the wire you want to identify or trace.
  2. Use the Receiver to follow the signal along the wire, even if it's inside bundles, conduits, behind panels, or under upholstery.
  3. The adjustable sensitivity helps in isolating the target wire from others.

6.5 Telephone Line Testing

The EM415PRO can also be used to test telephone lines:

  • Connect the Transmitter to the telephone line.
  • Use the Receiver to identify the state of the line (clear, ringing, or busy) by listening to the tone signal.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the units with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the indicator lights dim or the unit's performance decreases. Always use fresh 9V alkaline batteries.
  • Storage: Store the device in its protective carrying case in a cool, dry place when not in use. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
  • Probe Care: The flexible probe is durable but should not be excessively bent or twisted beyond its natural flexibility.
