PaiPaitek PC 559-TIO Smart Anti-Meow Cat Collar User Manual

Model: PC 559-TIO | Brand: PaiPaitek

1. Introduction

The PaiPaitek PC 559-TIO Smart Anti-Meow Cat Collar is designed to assist in training cats and correcting unwanted behaviors such as excessive meowing or jumping on forbidden areas. It features a remote transmitter for manual control and an automatic stop meowing function for when your cat is alone. The collar provides harmless beep, vibration, and static shock commands to effectively communicate with your cat.

How This Cat Training Collar Works

When your cat exhibits undesirable behavior, you can use the remote transmitter to activate the collar, delivering a beep, vibration, or mild static shock as a reminder. For automatic correction, especially when your cat is alone, activate the automatic stop meowing function. The collar will then respond to meows with a progressive series of stimuli.

Effective Training Tips

To effectively train your cat, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the collar receiver is properly fitted on your cat.
  2. Set the remote transmitter to the lowest stimulation level initially.
  3. When your cat meows or jumps on a forbidden surface, make a clear "NO" gesture and simultaneously press the beep button.
  4. If the behavior persists, use the vibration button.
  5. If your cat appears confused, reinforce the command verbally, such as "Stop that bad behavior."
  6. Always praise and reward your cat when it stops the unwanted behavior.

Note: Consistent use over 7-10 days often shows significant improvement. This collar is a training tool, not a punishment device, designed to build communication and strengthen your bond with your cat.

4. Safety Information

  • Do not expose the device to extreme heat or store it at temperatures above 113°F (45°C).
  • Always keep the cat training collar out of reach of children.
  • Do not use this collar on cats suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure, cerebral thrombosis, skin allergies, or similar health conditions. Consult a veterinarian if unsure.

5. Setup

5.1 Wearing the Collar Strap

  1. Position the receiver at the bottom of your cat's neck, ensuring the screw caps make direct contact with the skin.
  2. Maintain a finger's distance between the receiver collar and your cat's neck. The fit should be snug but not too tight, as a loose collar can reduce the effectiveness of static shock.
  3. If the collar strap is too long, trim the excess portion and carefully melt the cut edge with a lighter to prevent fraying.
  4. Avoid leaving the device on your cat's neck for more than 12 hours per day.
  5. Reposition the collar on your cat's neck every 1 to 2 hours to prevent skin irritation.

USB Charger Requirements:

Use a USB charger with the following parameters (e.g., smartphone charger or computer USB port):

  • Input: 100-240V~50-60HZ
  • Output: 5V 1000mA (or 300mA/500mA)

Charging the Remote Transmitter:

  1. Connect the charger cable to the remote's charging port.
  2. Plug the charger into a standard socket.
  3. The battery icon on the remote will flash during charging and become solid when fully charged.

Charging the Receiver:

  1. Remove the rubber cover on the back of the receiver.
  2. Connect the receiver to a charger in a standard socket.
  3. The red indicator light will flash slowly while charging and become solid when fully charged.

Checking Receiver Battery Level:

When the receiver is on, press the power button twice quickly to check the battery level:

  • 5 beeps: 100% (80-100%)
  • 4 beeps: 80% (60-80%)

6.2 Automatic Stop Meowing Function

Activating/Deactivating Automatic Function:

  • Turn On: Press the CH button on the remote transmitter for 3 seconds. You will hear one beep from the receiver.
  • Turn Off: Press the CH button on the remote transmitter for 3 seconds again. You will hear two beeps from the receiver.

The automatic stop meowing function is off by default from the factory. Activate it when needed.

How the Automatic Stop Meowing Collar Works:

The collar uses a progressive stimulation technique:

  • 1st Meow: Receiver vibrates for 2 seconds and emits a mild static shock at Level 1.
  • 2nd Meow (within 30s): Receiver vibrates for 3 seconds and emits a mild static shock at Level 2.
  • 3rd Meow (within 30s): Receiver vibrates for 4 seconds and emits a mild static shock at Level 3.
  • 4th Meow (within 30s): Receiver vibrates for 5 seconds and emits a mild static shock at Level 4.
  • 5th Meow (within 30s): Receiver vibrates for 6 seconds and emits a mild static shock at Level 5.

This gradual increase in intensity helps your cat associate meowing with the correction and learn to modify its behavior. This method is designed to be humane and effective.

Self-Protection Mode:

  • If the device activates 5 times continuously in automatic mode, it will enter a 30-second protection mode (indicator light flashes quickly) before resetting.
  • If your cat stops meowing for 30 seconds, the device will reset to its initial state, regardless of previous activations.

Meowing Modes (Mode 1 & Mode 2):

You can select a meowing mode based on the typical duration of your cat's meows:

  • Mode 1 (Short Meowing): Select if your cat meows for approximately 0.6-1 second.
  • Mode 2 (Long Meowing): Select if your cat meows for approximately 0.8-2 seconds.

Setting the Meowing Mode:

Press the CH button on the remote transmitter to cycle through the meowing modes. The left side of the remote screen will display '1' for short meowing mode or '2' for long meowing mode.

6.3 Test the Cat Training Collar

Before using the collar on your cat, perform these tests:

  • Beep Function Test: Press the beep button on the remote. The receiver should emit a beep sound.
  • Vibration Function Test: Press the vibration button on the remote. The receiver should vibrate.
  • Static Shock Function Test: Place the provided test lamp on the contact points of the receiver. Press the static shock button on the remote. The test lamp should flash, indicating the static shock is working.

7. User Tips

  • Consistency is Key: For best results, use the training collar consistently. If initial improvement is not seen, continue training for several more days; significant changes often appear after 7-10 days.
  • Immediate Feedback: Ensure the trainer triggers immediately when your cat exhibits unwanted behavior. This helps your cat associate the behavior with the stimulation.
  • Appropriate Stimulation: Adjust the stimulation intensity (vibration/static shock) to a level your cat can perceive but that does not overly startle or distress them.
  • Positive Reinforcement: Always reward your cat with praise or treats when they respond positively to the training or are quiet. This reinforces good behavior.
  • Rule out Health Issues: If your cat continues to meow excessively despite training, it is recommended to consult a veterinarian to rule out any underlying health issues.
  • Environmental Factors: Note that the automatic meowing detection may not activate in very noisy environments. Occasional meows or meows from a distance greater than half a meter may also not trigger the device.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Collar Not Working / Cat Still Meowing:
    - Check if the collar is properly fitted and the contact points are touching your cat's skin.
    - Ensure the receiver is charged and turned on.
    - Verify the remote and receiver are paired correctly.
    - Adjust the stimulation level to ensure your cat can feel it.
    - Confirm the automatic stop meowing function is activated if using auto mode.
    - Consider environmental noise; the sensor may be less effective in very loud areas.
  • Device Not Charging:
    - Ensure the charging cable is securely connected to both the device and the power source.
    - Check if the USB charger meets the specified input/output parameters.
    - For the receiver, ensure the rubber cover is fully removed during charging.
  • Remote Not Responding:
    - Check the remote's battery level.
    - Ensure the remote is turned on and not in a locked state (all functions except flashlight are locked when off).
    - Re-pair the remote and receiver if connection is lost.
  • Skin Irritation on Cat's Neck:
    - Ensure the collar is not too tight.
    - Reposition the collar every 1-2 hours.
    - Limit daily usage to a maximum of 12 hours.

9. Maintenance

  • Regular Charging: To maintain battery life, recharge both the remote and receiver at least every 2 months, even if not frequently used. The receiver will automatically turn off after 10 seconds of beeping when the battery is low.
  • Waterproofing: After charging the receiver, ensure the rubber cover is closed tightly to maintain its IPX7 waterproof rating.
  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the collar and receiver with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
