5. Setup and Installation
Important: Installation requires basic electrical knowledge. If you are not comfortable with electrical wiring, please consult a qualified electrician.
- Power Off: Before starting any wiring, ensure the main power supply to the circuit is turned OFF at the circuit breaker.
- Wiring: Connect the smart switch module according to the appropriate wiring diagram for your setup. The module typically requires Live-in (L-in), Neutral-in (N-in), Live-out (L-out), and connections for your traditional switch (S1, S2, S3, S4 depending on gang count).
- Placement: The mini size of the module allows it to be hidden within a traditional switch box or installed directly on the lamp fixture.
- Power On: Once wiring is complete and secure, restore power to the circuit.
- ZigBee Gateway Requirement: This smart switch module requires a Tuya ZigBee Gateway (hub) to function with the app and voice control features. Ensure your gateway is set up and connected to your network.

6. Pairing with Tuya Smart / Smart Life App
- Download and install the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store.
- Open the app and ensure your ZigBee Gateway is already added and online.
- In the app, navigate to your ZigBee Gateway and select "Add subdevice" or a similar option to begin pairing.
- On the smart switch module, long-press the reset button (or the physical switch connected to S1) for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes. This puts the device into pairing mode.
- Confirm in the app that the LED is blinking and proceed with the device search.
- Once discovered, follow the on-screen prompts to add the device.
- After successful pairing, you can rename the switch and access its control features.
